Difficulty with custom team.

Postby zcubbiss101 on Sat Jul 26, 2008 1:36 pm

Hellow all,

I've attempted to make a custom team appear in my NBA Live, however I have not had any success. I am attempting to make the '87 Lakers. I made a new .dbf file for the team in the teams folder giving it an ID of 80. The I found all of the players in the players folder, duplicated them and assigned them to the teams I.D. Also in the location folder I made the teams arena. Can anyone please assist me with this? The tutorial on the main page was of no help.

The tutorial you're talking about should give you all the info you need. What specifically are you having trouble with? Is the game crashing when you try to use your new team?

The new team doesn't even appear.

Are you re-loading the rosters after you make the changes?

Heres a few things that could be effecting it.

A.) I made the changes to the originaldb file in the drive c folder instead of the saves folder in my documents.
B.) I installed a roster patch before this.
C.) I have no idea what i'm doing.

You should always edit a saved roster instead. Since you've already made the changes to the files in originaldb, you might as well save some time and copy and paste those files to a roster save and load it.

I've tried that. But whenever I copy the files into the save folder, they revert back to the original out of nowhere. Should I try deleting the files from the save first?

Why not try making a team first with the default roster? Then after making it make sure you save it onto a new file

Ok so I somewhat figured it out. I edited into my save and it worked fine. But, I added a few more teams and now when I look at the recorder roster, all of the teams have the same name as the first time I created. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you given them all the same ID number? If so, they should all have their own unique TEAMID number.

Not ID number, I gave them 14 as the number for type of team they were. So they all appear behind the euro all-stars.

Try ID 6 or 13 instead, that might be what's causing the problem.
