Freestyle Superstars

Postby Celtica on Tue Jul 15, 2008 10:26 am

Hey guys,

Just joined up yesterday, thought I'd ask this question.

I have finally completed my first full season with the Spurs, playing all 82 games with 12 minute quarters. Throughout the entire season I have seen no Freestyle Superstar icons, which was fine because I was aware they no longer exist in next-gen Live games.

However, when I reached the playoffs, I decided to change my rotation (putting Finley in for Ginobili for the first round) and found a Freestyle Superstars menu.

?????

It featured a list of my players, with Superstar icons, similar to Live 07. I haven't played a game in the playofss yet so don't know whether or not they work, and if you are wondering I am 100% sure its Live 08!

So I was wondering:

1. Will they work? Is it just a lazy EA forgetting clean up after Live 07?
2. Is it meant to refer to Go To Moves?
3. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry, no pics at the moment.

Thanks if you can help!

Freestyle Superstars moves are still in the game, however the players that have them will perform them automatically when they're in the appropriate area on the court. There's no way to manually trigger them as in NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07.

. . . and that is one of the worst "improvements" to the version; there is nothing more satisfying, imho, than busting off a nice 360 dunk, a no-look pass leading to dunk, or dropping a long-range trey that is a result of your own well timed FSS stick skills.

True, though making the moves contextual does cut down on things like players attempts certain shots from too far out and (in theory) selects a shot that is appropriate given the situation.
