How do you switch players from your starting line-up permanently? I only have 10 players on my roster, I couldn't move a player to the inactive list.

You should use this fix which replaces the Inactive List with the traditional Reorder Rosters menu.

I got the files, but where do you put the 2 BIG files?

You only use one of the two files(check the read-me). As far as I know, I don't see any difference in the two.
Also, put them in your sgsm file (Program Files->EA Sports->NBA Live->sgsm)
