player introduction patch for 08?

The files you're looking for are in the scripter folder. It should be just a copy and paste job, I can't guarantee it will work though so you should make a backup so that you can restore the original files quickly and easily should it cause a crash.

PLEASE WOULD YOU (OR ANYBODY ELSE) POST A DOWNLOAD LINK FOR THE xscripts.viv-FILE??

I'd recommend making a backup of the default NBA Live 08 xscripts.viv in the scripter folder in case it doesn't work.

only in that game? one of the patchers here in the NLSC community said that he has the player intro patch.

It's possible that copy and paste is too crude a method, you might have to extract certain files from within the .viv and import them into NBA Live 08's file.
