Xbox 360 controller

Hi , i recently just bought nbalive08 for pc. i have xbox360 wireless adaptor and allows me to use my wireless 360 controller on the pc for games. i Have madden 08 as well and the controller works just fine, i went into controller config for nba live 08 and switch the setting to xbox 360 controller. but i cant seem to get it work. does anyone know what im doing wrong or is there another way to get them to work for the game? any help would be appreciated ty.
