Major trade dynasty trade problems...Help pleaseee

Postby IronBy12 on Thu Mar 20, 2008 8:50 am

OK it is my first year with the Celtics and my roster looks like this my starting five i have: Y. Jianlian (73) at C who i got thru the draft and then KG (92) at PF, P. Pierce (90) at SF, R. Allen (87) at SG, and then a created player at PG.

I have been trying to deal P. Pierce for K. Durant who is on Houston and some crap players and i couldnt get anything done. I have a lot of other pieces like J. Posey who i boosted his rating up to a 86 and R. Rondo whos rating i put up to an 85. I also have A. Horford (73) who a lot of teams like ive tried throwing him in deals.

I also tried a deal with Memphis: Pierce (90) SF, Rondo(85) PG, Horford(73) PF for P. Gasol (85) PF, J. Koch (78) SF, and R. Gay (71) SF...which the money situation was good and i thought was probably a better deal for them and the trade was denied.

the rest of my bench is E. House, L. Walton, K. Korver, S. Pollard, and C. Booth. Ive also tried deals with Pierce and Carmelo couldnt make anything happen.

So ive seen a lot of you have been able to make all kinds of big deals so i would really appreicate your imput and if you guys have any ideas for me thnxx.

Welcome to the Forum!

As far as the total of the overall ratings are concerned, you certainly offered the CPU team a better deal and if the salary situation is OK, normally that means a done deal. However, the CPU will still reject deals if they're not that interested in any of the players you're offering or would prefer to keep one of the players in the proposed deal.

It's sometimes hard to know why the CPU doesn't like a particular deal as it doesn't give very detailed information except to say they don't want to make it. Looking at that deal, Memphis would be giving up two of their (presumably) highest rated small forwards which would leave them a bit thin at that position, even though a 90 overall player is coming the other way. That could be one of the reasons they're not keen to deal.

Another deal i just tried Pierce, Posey, two players they are interested in and are a 90 and 86 for Carmelo (86) and Nene (73) a C who they are very interested in gettin rid of. Again the money equals up it looks to me a very good trade for them and of course ir is declined.

It isn't always easy to pry another team's best player away. As I said before, sometimes it comes down to the positions of the players involved as the CPU team decides a deal would leave it too week at a certain position. Try including a big man in the deal, preferably someone who's primary position is centre. I'm a bit surprised it's being so stubborn though, usually it accepts deals that are in its favour.

How far along are you in the season?

Do those teams have winning records? Traditionally the CPU will ignore some of these factors and make a deal that favours them, but just as it's hard to get a draft pick from a team that is lottery bound, it can be difficult to get star players away from a team that's winning.
