Does the game crash with a specific error message?

Again, are any error messages displayed? Does your PC meet the requirements? Do you have any updates installed? Troubleshooting is often a process of elimination so a bit more info would be helpful.

This is not my thread but here it goes... I meet all the recommended requirements for hardware and software... And yes there is an error message displayed.. pointing it to a folder in my documents.... I practiced every precaution possible for it to install properly... But every time i re-install it it the error always points to the my documents folder that the game also installs.... I also have a thread similar to this..

mine too, i'm using the original copy of live 08. i dont have a prob with the system requirements, it seems like it gets worst and worst. sometimes the game works perfectly, then there will be days that it will crash sometime in the 4th qtr, then the other day it crashes before the shoot around, now it crashes during timeouts. its really starting to get into my nerves man i don't know how to fix it anymore. everytime it crashes theres this send or dont send message by the way

I also have that kind of problem but i fixed it. If the error message you get saying that CODEBASE ERROR then it will say that it has a problem to one of your NBA Live 08 folder (should be) located at the My Documents. Then i think that you should copy the database folder in the Program files(in their is the NBA Live 08 folder which contains the sgsm). If the CODEBASE ERROR point in the orignaldb that is although when i have that problem it is not in their
P.S If this is your problem then it might help you a bit

the error that shows up on my game when it crashes is the one with the send or dont send option

Try deleting the currentdb and workingdb folders. The game will restore them, which often fixes these crashes.

tried deleting currentdb and workingdb, still crashed..

Are you using any patches? If so, you might want to try removing them to see if you can isolate any that are causing problems. If all else fails, reinstall.

already tried reinstalling it still crashes, i've tried removing some patches but still no luck. it was working perfectly before, i did'nt add any patch when it started to crash during games

You sure you aren't using Alby's roster? I remember reading about it possibly causing crashes late in the game. I could be mistaken, though. It also could be one of the gameplay fixes or sig shot patches.

im using nlsc roster 1.04. before it started crashing i've already been using the same gameplay fix and other patches and it worked perfectly until now. it crashes during first time outs, sometimes it crashes immediately before the shootaround, sometimes it crashes during the 3rd or 4th quarter.

Are you sure you are not using a nocd? A common problem with the nocd are crashes during timeous and cutscenes.
Wed Apr 09, 2008 10:51 pm
yup im sure.. i have the original copy and i didnt download any nocd patch

I'd suggest temporarily removing all the patches you have installed and see if the problem persists. If that solves the problem, start adding the patches again a few at a time to see if you can isolate the problematic one(s).
