HELP: questions about generated rookies

Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:38 pm

is there any possible way to make the socks of the generated rookies black when they are on their away game?

as we all know we cant edit CPU controlled team's player in the dynasty mode..

You can't edit the players on CPU controlled teams through the database, but you can edit them through DBF editing...as long as you're playing the PC version.

im playing the PC version sir Andrew, is any tuto on how to edit the accessories of the CPU controlled team? I want to make their socks black during away games.

The file you need to edit is appearance.dbf. From there, you can edit a player's height, weight, shoes etc. However, you will need to open players.dbf first to locate the player you wish to edit, note his PLAYERID number, and search for this number under the APPEARID column in appearance.dbf.

oh it seems too complicated :(

That's why we've mapped the attributes. appearance.dbf remains unchanged from last year.

sir andrew, what should i change if i want to make away socks color black?
SOCKS: Player's sock type
SOCKCOLOR: Player's sock colour
SOCKCOL2: Player's sock colour
SOCKCOL3: Player's sock colour

Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:07 am

SOCKCOLOR is the field you want to change, 1644825 is the value for Black. SOCKCOL2 and SOCKCOL3 are for the second and third colours in the multi-banded style socks.

Wed Mar 05, 2008 3:35 pm

what dbf editor should i use?

edit: i am downloading DBC_2000 trial version

Thu Mar 06, 2008 8:59 am

I recommend DB Commander over Excel or Access. Excel and Access can be safely enough if you're experienced in dbf editing but DB Commander tends to be a lot safer.

Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:39 pm

another question sir Andrew, can i change the name of the generated rookies?
for example i will change it to my name, is that possible?

i am a bit confuse in editing players.dbf in my dynasty.. i cant explain it in proper english.

i'll post the screenshots later so that you can guide me..

edit: this the same players.dbf in my wolves dynasty

You can change the names of players simply by changing them in the database (NAME is their surname, FNAME is their first name). In Dynasty Mode, players on your team will have two entries as the second is used for the development comparison in between seasons. If you're changing details such as the name, height or weight, you should make the changes to both entries.

Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:09 pm

look at the team id sir Andrew, why do the second entry have the no. 40 team id?, 40 is for the legends pool..

Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:19 pm

Yes, it normally designates a player as being part of the Legends pool but you don't need to worry about that when you're editing a Dynasty game. The important thing is that you edit both entries for players on your Dynasty team.

Fri Mar 07, 2008 8:07 pm

in the DELETED field, should i also make my second entry players in my dynasty False?

Sat Mar 08, 2008 8:52 am

It shouldn't hurt but there's no reason to do that.

Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:08 pm

you can patch it with a tatoo patch too
