Training in Dynasty Mode

Sat Mar 01, 2008 2:55 am

Hey Guys!

Do you have any hints for a perfect Training in Dynasty Mode? What about the length of a train-unit? 1week? 4weeks? Does it matter?

How many Assistant Coaches do you have? At least, the maximum of three?

Which players do you train? Can I see the talentlevel of the players anywhere? I train only young players.

As I said: any hints from you?

Thanks bros!

If you're using the PC version, you can open the players.dbf file and take a look at the attributes called DESTINY, WORKETHIC and LEARNING. These are the hidden attributes that determine a player's likelihood of developing into a better player and responding positively to training.

If you want to try and develop multiple players throughout the season, getting a couple of assistant coaches would certainly be wise but if you want to focus on one player then you should still see results if you only hire the one assistant coach. Note that when you assign training time, you're selecting a player to focus on but the whole team gets trained, which is why you receive notifications of improvements for other players as well. If you have a player with a strong work ethic and good development potential, you should see fairly consistent improvement.

You've got the right idea focusing on young players since they have more potential. You should see some results no matter how long you set the training length, but keep in mind that once you've set that time, you'll need to wait until that period is over before assigning a new area of focus. If you assign four weeks of training focusing on offense, you're going to see more of an improvement in that area than if you assigned one week at a time, alternating focus between offense, defense and athletics. And of course, the longer the training period, the less frequently you have to worry about assigning time for your assistant coach.

Great, Andrew! I opened the players.dbf and took a look at the databse. What I found: Destiny (from 1 to 8), Workethic (from 0 to 3) and Learning (from 1 to 82).
With the numbers of Learning I've got no problem. The higher the better. But what's with Destiny and Workethic? The lower the better? Well, Clifford Robinson had 8 Destiny, Kwame Brown Workethic 3. Any Idea?

The best DESTINY attribute is 1, while the best WORKETHIC attribute is 0.

Also yes. You just have to find him in players.dbf file.

I think that Dorell Wright of the Miami HEAT has good learning, destiny and workethic numbers, becuase after 2-3 seasons with training (I simulate a lot of games) he went from his standard 70-something overall to 93 overall, and I prefered using him instead of Wade. Then I ended up with 8 players on my roster with my starters looking like this: PG: A.Iverson SG: D.Wade SF: S.Marion PF: dont remember, but a good one and C: T.Chandler. It wasn't fun with all that good players, so I started a new one. I hope Cook develops fast though.
