NBA Live 08 vs NBA Live 07

in this box match :) the winner is.... nba live 07!! at least for now. nba live 08 need some good patching. graphic and gameplay issues are terrible this year. okey, nba live 07 isn't that good too, but it is better than 08. pure and simple.

i find it quite wierd to see those strange courts in 08, they all have to much of a yellow. and in 08 everything is so dark, i barely can see anything after third row of seats. why is that sudden change? i tried with brightness slider, but even with that it also looked too dark. i have them both installed on my pc and everything is just like i say. also, the cpu alwasy shoots over 60% from the field, plays (mostly) run and gun basketball, players hitting some unbelivable shoots, star players averaging too many points etc, etc.... i have fatigue set to high and i always get only center or power forward affecting from it. guards and small forwards are always "fresh". i can't box out after free throws. we have coaches without legs (oh, they surely have it but their legs are somwhere in the press table). and many (not only many but TOO MANY) other bugs and issues.

after all, the bottom line is - those graphic and gameplay issues must be resolved or this year's edition will be the worst in nba live history. ea sports, please provide us with some good patch!

Yeah I agree with you.

On my personal view Live 07 w/ Supreme Update Mod is better than the default install of nba live 08.

Just waiting for the patchers to release SUM for live 08.

I don't think that will be happening, unless someone else wants to make a major update. I also find 07 to be better then 08.

I like the cpu AI in 07, but not in 08.
07's simulation engine is better then 08's. 08's simulation engine kills dynasty/season mode for me.
I like being able to choose what animation I want with FSS in 07, but 08 chooses the animation contextually.
07 seems to be able to handle more 2x patches. In 08, even if I fix a court for use with 2x jerseys, it still crashes.
The things I like about 08 are the improved collisions so the ball doesn't go through players when passing or blocking.
I like the go-to moves, the hotspots and the automatic replays, even though the replays still only show FSS shots, go-to moves, and signature shots. Although some go-to moves are easy to block with the jumping animation being higher then it was in 07.
Cameras were easier to edit in 07, I can't remake any of the cameras I made in 07 because the data that I used from a previous Live does not work correctly in 08.
I like the return of the backdown button and the prohop button in 08.

Of course, after some major patching and hopefully an official patch from EA fixing some of the major issues, 08 has more potential then 07 to become a great game.

NBA Live 08 is a pure crap fest ... at least on the PC. Before there is no serious patch from EA I won't be touching it again, and will continue my dynasty on Live '07.

The rosters are pure crap and an insult to the players. The gameplay is a mess ... PF's and C's leading the league in assists? Three point shooters like Peja Stojakovic hit next to nothing, even with the shooting sliders tuned up to 100? Players stopping for a split second when catching a pass while running and allowing the defense to catch up? Its crap ...

The cpu is acting dumb ... I can beat them down the court for easy layups, its not even funny (although I could do this in 07 too .. to an extent).

I could go on and on ...

For now I'll be playing 07, but I doubt EA will fix those issues ... :(.

I think 08 with lots of graphic patching could not tie with 07. But what bothers me so much are the camera angles this year.

Maybe in 6 months with the load of patches that will be released, this game may have chance.

I will stick with 07 for now.

Very bad game, that Live 08. I regret buying it.
Now I'm back to Live 06.

i enjoyed 07 better than 08, i don't really "play" video games that much so i'm not too concerened with gameplay. But, 08 took away the player lock, and you can't even watch the computer teams play against each other, if you don't feel like playing. Most of the time i just simulate. I really enjoyed the freestyle superstars and turning player into freestyle superstars. I have 08 for the p2p and a lot of the ratings are way off like, how is Josh McRoberts over higher than carmelos, i don't know exactly what carmelo's is i think for the p2p its 86 or something and mcroberts is like 89.
