Difference between 07 and 08

These are the differences between live 08 and 07 PC.

Own the paint - not implemented on PC.
QuickStrike - not implemented on PC
GotoMoves - useless, never go in and easily blocked. look SICK.
Hotspots - implemented poorly, no effect on gameplay.

Graphics - same resolutions, same engine, no difference
Rosters - worse than ever
dynasty - no improvements, no reorder rosters, no change of no of games
ai - lets not go there, pg dom replaced by superstar dom, endless list
dunk contest and 3 point shootout - same
menus - same
videos - worse selection than last yr
music - subjective
cameras - buggy as last yr

OK, now wil someone please tell me what EA has done to 07 to make it 08 PC? this thread is very specific to the PC version. If this isnt cheating, wat is? All versions of NBA Live 08 promoted all the features above. and now we have to rely on u ppl to fix this excuse for a game? is there no legal recourse? is this the sort of sh*t we have to put up with?

Superstar dom is closer to basketball than all PGs dom.

But there are a lot of very weird things in AI.

Auto subs don't work well. PGs rarely are subbed, and sometimes the PC subs in bench guys for 100% stamina starters in close games.

The way players recover stamina is faulty. People go to 100% stamina after each quarter. That's ridiculous.

The point is and I dont want to make this thread THE BUG LIST, because we have a better thread to post them, that 08 is a huuge disapppointment. EA should be ashamed of releasing such a game and I dont think I will buy the next edition. Suffice to say, i have other ways of getting the game than paying money.

It is WAY too easy to score inside. Even in the hardest mode, you can just force a dominant big man to carry the ball under the basket and dunk. It works 9 out of 10 times... and that's being modest.

Thank you making this forum my wife thinks I'm psycho but I gotta vent to somebody. I have the O7 version right. I should've just downloaded a patch to update the rosters because its no difference. Its actually in a lot of ways worse. When trying to make a trade you can't see salaries i swear the announcers have gotten worse at calling plays, and their are rookies that I never heard of players I never heard of and I'm 7 games into the season. Charlotte has a 34 year old rookie Dustin Hermanson or something like that with a rating of 84. Memphis has a new power forward rookie with a rating of 89. This game is horrible. I use either press box or courtside view the graphics are horrible. I have everything on high a 512mb video card. And the graphics are garbage. I think NBA live 00 had better graphics. Even the close ups sucks. NBA LIVE is garbage and needs to be rehauled completely. I see action games where the graphics are ridiculous you mean you have 10 guys walking up and down a court and you can't get the graphics better than that. Come on. The designer needs to take a long hard look.

I swore up and down not to buy this game after 2007. I said I'd download it because EA owes me. And yet here I am with a $30 copy in hand. I admit it, I'm a total sucker and EA programmers and EA can laugh at the losers who bend over and take it in the can every year.

Thanks a lot guys. Your "focus on gameplay" really made a difference this year. I'm going to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare now. Unlike your piece of trash, they quietly delivered one of the best games with insane graphics. Their walking motion is better than anything your worthless "basketball motion-capture" bull" ever was. And that's a first person shooter! That's like 18th on the list of priorities in a shooter. And they nailed it. Pathetic EA.

I think rebound more realistic in 08, like the ball don't magically get attracted to some player, and the offense rebounder doesn't automatically shoot within a millionth of second after rebounding and sometimes they dish out back to perimeter, but I only played 1 game so far.

thats my point. there are so many games that do ten times as much work as nba live 08 and they dont have so many problems. it just infuriates me to see so many people working hard saying "i will make this patch or that fix", cos it shows that ea didnt really bother with the game at all.

Same here. I knew NBA Live 08 will be the worst game ever out of the Live Series, but I had to buy it ... After a few minutes of playing ... I'm like, what is this?!? I left the game and never played it again. A few weeks ago I bought 'Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfight', I'm telling you, the best game I've ever played, based on graphics.

thanks for all the information (good/bad). i am thinking if i'll be getting Live 08 for PC this year knowing how the Live 07 did, but looks like i'll be staying with Live 07 for now until i'm able to afford PS3 and get 2K8 or Live 08 (i read somewhere it's better now). I've been playing the Live series since 98 and me and my friends really enjoyed the series (99, 2000, 2001). I remember setting up a total of 8-9 set plays for playcalling at least 2 plays for each position, 2 player in one keyboard (ofcourse game pads are available now), and the fatigue really worked backed then. But when me and my friends meet and play, it was more of an offensive and defensive strategy game not like turbo your player and force dunk on anyone. To me i believe game play was a lot better then. Anyway, i prefer playing the game with a human opponent which totally changes how the game is played.
