American PC Gamers... Where can you get the game???

I'm sorry if this topic has been brought up before. I'm at work and don't have time to look through every topic, but where the hell can you actually go to buy LIVE 08 for the PC??? There was an ad in the Sunday paper for Circuit City for LIVE 08 on the PC for $30 and it said: In Stores Wednesday, and there isn't a Circuit City in the tri-state area that has the damn game in-stock! I was going to go during my lunch break and buy the damn thing, but when I called, the little punk on the phone said that they didn't have it in... Is anybody else seeing it/buying it from a local store???

Best thing to do is just call all of the places rather than drive around all day. Sometimes the people don't know anything though.

Yeah, I know, man... It's a catch 22... I don't want to drive around all over the place, but I also don't trust any of these cheap little punks that work at these places (not that there is anything wrong with being a cheap little punk). The Circuit City website and the EB Games websites say that none of the stores have copies available in the tri-state area! So, I was curious where the hell people were actually buying their copies. Jeez... I'm like the only person in America that actually goes out and purchases the actual game, and I can't find a damn copy to buy!

hey D-Fish, i live in Toronto, Canada and i'm on the same boat as you. I went to every EB store here and they said they don't have it in stock even though it has been released, some of the workers said they haven't received any NBA LIVE 08 shipment yet and some said that they only received 3 copies and have sold out and they don't know when the next time they'll get more...

it's sooo weird, maybe EA Canada has retracted their shipments in Canada and the US because of the numerous bugs found by ppl who has the copy other than North America and by ppl who downloaded it illegally?

That sucks, man... I don't know what the deal is. Every year, prior to this one, I go straight to EB on the day it comes out because they only get in one copy, but I decided to wait till it was "In Stores Wednesday" (according to the damn Circuit City flyer) and they don't have the damn thing, and guess what--IT'S WEDNESDAY! So, now I feel I'm SOL on getting a copy...

ya it's unreal, i called the guy working at EB before going there and he said that they recieved 8 boxes of new games and he said NBA LIVE 08 was probably in one of the boxes. So later on the day i went there and the same guy said that there wasn't any NBA LIVE 08 for PC in the boxes.. what a waste of time damn, i was looking forward to playing it today.

I guess it's either slower here in Canada when new games come here or that EA has stopped shipments and decided for a further release date until they fix the bugs in the game? I hope it's the latter though, btw D-Fish did you check if any other gaming stores had the game?

I checked the sites for all... Best Buy doesn't even have it available online... EB (Game Stop), Circuit City, and Best Buy are the only ones that I've checked with. That's really the only places that we have available in my area in order to buy games...

it's weird, maybe EA sports don't really care about PC gamers and has decided to only ship a limited amount of copies that way they don't have to lose too much money to downloaders? Well i'm gonna keep checking, it says on the futureshop website that it comes out tomorrow so... if it doesn't come out by next week i guess i'll have to do the alternative...

Strange stuff...
I went to Circuit City, Target and Best Buy and they didn't have it for PC, even though it was supposed to be shipped yesterday and on the shelves today. They came up with some stupid excuses of course.
I tried Gamestop out of despair, and they had ONE freaking copy for PC! Well, I don't think they'll need to get some more anyway since I bought this one, I doubt anyone else here will buy it for PC...

hey great news, i got my copy of the game just now! thankfully i gave futureshop one more chance today and they had copies! so if ur store doesn't have it in today, it'll be in stock tomorrow probably

Good to hear bro! You shouldn't be playin the game tonight, you should be down at the ACC watching our Raptors season opener! I wish I lived in TO so I could get to a few games. I may try to get to a game when the Mavs come to town. Enjoy the game, hope to have mine tomorrow!

Glad most of you guys have been able to find a copy. I was able to score one as well last night... My quest ended late yesterday. After the nit wits at GameStop telling me on the phone that they didn't have the game, I decided to actually go to the store and see for myself. I walked right in and saw the one copy sitting there on the shelf, which I gladly purchased. I then proceeded to tell the idiot behind the counter that when somebody calls and asks if they have the game, then they should move their dumb ass over to where the game is supposed to be and look and see if they actually have it. Stupid assholes...

I didn't get to play it too much because I had to format my hard-drive before I could play and it was about midnight by the time I had downloaded the 1700 windows updates. From what I could tell, it seems to be a much, much improved game. Can't wait to play it when I get home...

I went to my local Gamestop today. They didn't have any copies in. They said they would likely never get any in, because "there just isn't the demand for PC games anymore."

So now I have to wait on 5-10 days shipping on Gamestop.com.

Hey TC#10 What futureshop branch did you buy the game? I just went to kennedy branch they said that there's no delivery for Pc version yet. Same as EB games. Cheers.
