Since we're doing a list of issues for the PC version I thought we might as well try reporting issues with the Xbox 360 version as well and request a patch through XBL.

NBA Live 08 Xbox 360 Issues

• Lengthy loading times when beginning a new game, intervening in a game or beginning a custom scenario. It's not uncommon for the loading time to span 15-20 trivia questions with the game occasionally loading a little quicker.
• The player indictator disappears when making substitutions through the pause menu, making the game especially difficult on defense as the user has to guess which player he's controlling (something the CPU is easily able to exploit). It doesn't return unless you completely restart the game.
• Player accessories are locked in Edit Player.

So,360 also has bugs,i'll plan to buy a xbox360 and the game.Thanks Andrew,i'll not buy anymore.

It may not be as common as you think. I've played over 30 games (both exhibition and dynasty) and the load time never took more than 5 trivia questions.

The disappearing indicator bug is for real though. But in my last few games, I was able to avoid it by not pausing the game during a cut-scene.

Shouldnt this count for the ps3 as well?

wouldnt u have to have a modded 360 to even
fix the players unlock edit?

Theres a problem with the offensive fouls quite often also.
And rebounds are often taken in times when it would be called goaltending.

I was able to score 26 on the trivia once lol, there were around about 35+ questions...

Strange...I've only once answered around five or six questions, usually it's between 15-20.

Its frozen up on me a couple times, once in a game, and once playing Dynasty mode, trying to sign a player who's asking price was $0 for 0 years.

It might be my 360; as I've had it almost a whole year.

Who was the player? If it's a database error it should occur for everyone.

That's a shame, but at least the ratings are still accessible. Personally, the player indicator disappearing and the lengthy loading times are more irritating issues though it would have been nice to have player accessories unlocked.

I've been trying to send EA more information on some of these issues, so if anyone else can provide some detailed feedback on the loading times and the player indicator disappearing, please post it.

As I mentioned earlier, I've only had one instance where the game has loaded with fewer than 10 questions, with an average of 15-20 pretty much every time I play. I'm using an Xbox 360 hard drive which has about 10 GB free.

If I substitute using the D-Pad (ie without going to the pause menu), I don't seem to have a problem with the player indicators. However, the moment I make a substitution through the pause menu they seem to disappear. Is that the same for everybody else?

for some reason, on defense when the opponent has free throws, after the first free throw the CPU autoswitches you to the guy guarding the FT shooter. anybody else get this? it's not that big a deal but it does get irritating.

yeah the out of bounds thing is weird too. it works for when it senses backcourt violations (the person stepping back but not the ball) but unfortunately stepping out of bounds shouldn't work the same way. people can step out of bounds all day (especially when catching a loose ball) and stay "in bounds" as long as the ball doesn't leave the court.

To summarize my experiences with those bugs:

Load times: usually 5 questions, with the game starting right after the fifth question's answer is revealed. However, I recall one game when the load time was 6 questions long. This is IMHO consistent with the Trivia King achievement (getting 3 questions right during a single trivia minigame). I guess that slightly scratched DVD could cause longer load times though.

Player indicator: happens only if I make a substitution using the pause menu during an in-game cut-scene (like player getting ready for a free throw or after a foul is called). It does not happen always, but is very likely. So subbing out a player right after he gets into a foul trouble, might be tempting, but will likely cause this bug. Making substitutions through the pause menu during normal gameplay has never caused this bug for me though.

I'm using Xbox 360 Elite with about 80GB free space on HDD and the PAL version of the game.

It does seem that a while a lot of people are having problems with the loading times, there are a lot of people who aren't. It seems too big a coincidence that everyone who's having problems has a problematic disc or console, but there must be some common factor. Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones, st_patriick.

Very annoying indeed. Also a lot of correct buzzer beaters are just being ignored by the referee because the end of game animation already started. Both bugs are very annoying. If the game is close and you see the other team step out of bounds in the last minute it's bad enough, but if you are still able to beat the other team by a buzzer beater and the buzzer beater doesn't really excist afterwards it really starts to be frustrating.

anyword on any of this is getting fixed...

I've been sending along the info as it's come in the same as the PC issues list but no word as yet. As soon as anything comes in I'll be sure to post it.

Bought live 08 for the 360 not long ago and to me its not very enjoyable yet.
Tried some of the sliders seen here and also tried mixing them around myself but nothing works. Computer shoots a very high % every game, while i'm struggling to hit anything close to 30-40% most games. Maybe i just cant play the game properly hehehe i dont know.
Any help would be great and sorry if this was posted in the wrong section
