The game is too easy

Tue Oct 16, 2007 9:17 am

I have played the game for a week and I am already beating every team with any team in superstar mode.Does anybody feel the same?

Yes, It was WAY too early for me to be beating teams in Superstar mode. consistently. It shortens the life of offline play drastically.

play as the sixers or one of the crapper teams (Y)

I play as the hawks.... a crap-ish team.

Cmon Dude!

Just WORK hard in sliders! :x :?

Yeah I think the sliders will sort of balance out the game for the Superstar AI. The default sliders allow too much steals and offensive rebounds which in turn convert to fastbreaks and second chance points respectively.

I play the Jazz (rating 78) and have been beating most of the teams including Allstars. I also have been playing the game for a week now (PS3 Version). My point guard and small forward get at least 5-10 steals combined a game with 5 min quarters. That converts to a lot of points.

You might notice that the AI do not play good defense and do not double team much. You will almost always get your way in the post. Although I'm not sure about your style of play...my power forward gets most of the points.

And I also would assume that you play random games or quick play. If you do Dynasty and reach the playoffs, you'll probably experience a little difficulty where your normal plays and patterns don't work all the time.

However, like you, I don't know how to fix the sliders to balance it. There are several templates we can use that are posted in another forum (I think its a sticky)....

What version of Live 08 do you have?

Tue Oct 16, 2007 5:44 pm

I have live 08 for PS3. I'm about 6 games into my dynasty with the Hawks.

I play around 7-8 min quarters, scores are around 90-110ppg. I have turned user steals all the way down, and offensive rebounds most of the way down.

I still get about 4spg with Marvin Williams, and Josh Smith gets too many ppg (29), mostly from offensive rebounds.

Like you 'joar32' my PF's usually do the scoring, but I try to play the perimeter with JJ and Marvin. to spread it.

Any other slider suggestions to make the cpu realistically harder?

i found that the game is pretty easy too. The steals, off boards and easy fast break points are the reason. if i shoot jumpers for a while the game is much harder.

im gonna tweak the sliders a bit when i play next. steals all the way down, off boards all the way down. inside scoring down. and some other little slider tweaks.

Hahaha, I guess you're just too good for the AI even after you maxed out the sliders and still get the same result. If you continue Dynasty, I'm pretty sure you'll see and increase in "difficulty" along the way. If not then you should be joining tournaments and start earning money and prizes from the game

With regards to the balance scoring thing, I mean don't fix what ain't broken. If you PF makes you win, then continue using him. You don't need to make your wins look "good". As long as you win that's the most important thing.

I'm curious to see how Shaft23 will make adjustments to make the game challenging....

Thanks for the responses guys.

Basically, you'll need to adjust the sliders to give the CPU an unfair advantage. That means turning up the CPU interception slider so you really need to take care of the ball, raising the CPU shooting sliders so they are much more potent on offense and perhaps even lowering the user shooting sliders to make it more difficult for you to score.
