Seriously EA...mention this BEFORE the release date. I don't even see how online 5v5 is fun because you could feasibly go an entire half without ever touching the ball. Oh well, people seem to be into it.

If you haven't heard, the announcement today is that there will be an upgrade patch in November for the Xbox360 and PS3 which will allow online play between 10 separate players, each user being able to lock onto one player.
This is an awesome feature and I was about to jump for joy until I read that PC users need not apply. Wow. Talk about a bitch-slap to the face. What is it about the PC that makes us the Tito's of the Jackson family? Is it because the profit margins are really that low? Or because there are no other bball sim options? 2K Sports DO YOU FREAKING HEAR US??????????
PC Gamers are generally more mature and well-off (can afford more shit because a PC costs about 2x the price of the most expensive console). Why is this segment being ignored by sports game developers? There's no pro baseball game on the PC anymore. The football graphics in Madden were crap.
You know, I'm reduced to playing 3-on-3 half-court Freestyle Street Basketball by Sierra Online. You should all try it. It's free to try and, while the graphics are cartoonish, it's plenty fun knowing that the other
5 players are actual people.
F*** you EA. I never once pirated NBA Live ever (in 10 years) because I thought my revenues would go towards good development, but this year I just may "borrow" the game from my local Library.

MVP Baseball 2005 with 07 mod over at mvpmods.com is your pro baseball fix right there.
Apart from that, there's slim pickings for PC gamers with the craptasicity of Live and Madden and NHL as they move onto next-gen.

Nobody likes my thread containing good news
Duly noted - I will make more anti-Live threads in the future.

This feature changes the face of NBA Live play. When I toured with the Madden Challenge, we often played 2v2. It was fun even if I just took the big man to block shots and grab rebounds.
Could there someday be teams playing in tournaments the way CS teams play in tournaments?

What makes PC different from consoles is that in the PC world there are all kinds of opportunities for OEM and modding and upgrading to optimize systems for prime game play.
There's a whole world of CS competitions based on millions of sponsor dollars pouring in because players optimize their computer to pull maximum frames from a 10 year old game. Only in the last year has that shifted to CS Source, based on a newer engine.
EA is missing all that by providing a game primarily on platforms that don't accept a great deal of customization.
5v5 may change that.

Merged 'Live 5 on 5' with this topic.
This is what everybody has been waiting for years for. Seriously, 64 people can play an FPS on one server, and they finally get it to work in Live. Let's hope it doesn't become all laggy.
This is definitely something that will get people to play Live rather then 2k. Your team against my team, etc. I can see online team-tournaments already being brainstormed.

It's not that. I thought it was good news too - until I heard that PC users are screwed yet again.
And by the way, my post was a new one. The moderators moved it into here because the subject is the same.

I'll be downloading the update once it becomes available but as always I'm disappointed that the PC version has been left out. Given that it remains a port of the PS2 version for now, I'm not surprised though.
