Wow... That is interesting... Albeit, very speculative. I don't see Dwayne Wade winning the MVP. He's still not 100% recovered from his injury and stuff. I guess we'll see. I WOULD like to see a Celtics/Suns series, though, but I really doubt that's going to happen. The Celtic hype, however understandable, is a bit much. Give them a couple of years before you start screaming Finals talk...

I'm surprised EA didn't take the playoffs out of the game. They seem to love taking out features.

Thanks for the link, that's pretty cool. I'd love to see a Suns-Celtics finals go 7 games, with my Suns coming out on top! Hope it works out.

Although Im a PHX fan, neither Suns nor Celtics will make it to finals this year, sorry.
There is no way Bulls and Raptors will be left out of playoffs.
Wiz 3rd in the east...wishful thinking.
Hopefully they are better on producing a better live series than predicting 07/08 season.

What the f***? Bulls ninth in the East with W's?

If this happens, I'm Einstein!

Also some questionable stuff :

2. New Jersey 47-35.

If they're lucky, they will win 47 games, but they wont be second in the East.

Bulls No. 1 in East!

No way Houston will finish that low! and I don't see the Lakers at the 6th seed...
and Celtics won't be making the finals in the next two years! You can bet on that!

this again proves that the guys at EA aren't really competent...:)

Whether the NBA turns out like this or not (my guess is not), I'd prefer to run a few sims with NBA Live 08 before writing off the sim engine this year. You do run into weird results every so often and if simulation injuries are enabled the better teams often suffer due to stars being out.

That's why I was a little surprised when my NBA Live 07 Playoff Sim with the NLSC update produced plausible results on the first attempt. Simulating last year often yielded results that were at least feasible for the most part, but every so often something strange and highly unlikely would happen. There was always a chance that outcome could occur on the first attempt.

That's not to say NBA Live 08's sim engine is perfect or greatly improved because frankly I haven't yet spent enough time with the game and run enough simulations and so forth to come to that verdict, but I've seen some simulations go much better than others so it wouldn't surprise me if this sim saw a couple of things go awry. Nothing is mentioned of player injuries or noteworthy trades so perhaps those were a factor as well. I guess we'll find out in due course.

Why is everybody so high on boston? They have 3 good players and everybody else should be working at a burger king.

I don't doubt they'll make the playoffs, but I seriously doubt they'll win the east.

KG, Pierce and Allen comprises the most impressive trio we've seen in some time given that all three are still in their prime and they've got a couple of decent players and young prospects on the roster but I agree that a lot of people are making lofty predictions for a team that is as yet unproven.

I believe this will be it, nobody in the west can or will beat phoenix when they make it to the western conference finals. I heard somebody say that steve nash is focused on winning an nba title they will be there. In the west it will either be phoenix, or san antonio most likely hmmmm... In the east, its up for grabs, as good as boston will become i don't think they have enough big men especially a center that will take them to the eastern conference finalys. It will be either of these teams, Miami, Detroit, cleveland or washington, washington is going to be dangerous and gilbert said that nobody wanted to play them. Gilbert is on some kind of strange diet that might make him a better player. The cavs have added devin brown and cedric simmons, but unfortunately they may loost pavolvic and anderson to europe. They need anderson back, being a cavs, fan since it was my first home, (i'm also a miami heat and orlando magic fan since i live in florida) i can live without pavolvic since they have brown and brown. What can brown do for us?

What about the bulls? ( miami sucks), (Detriot is old),(Washington, all they got is gilbert) cleveland is the only team that can stop them
Bulls are gonna win the championship baby!

Very unrealistic simmed season.
Miami (!), Cleveland (!!), Milwaukee (!!!) went to the playoffs, instead Chicago, Orlando and Toronto were ruled out. And I also think that Charlotte could go to the PO.
Lakers aren't as good as EA draws them, Memphis is much better than they think, Memphis (Navarro+Pau+Mike Miller+Conley) would be an hard team.

The EA sim engine isn't good, peace.

Did you see how well washington's power forward played against the cavs, i forgot who he was but i remember seeing him score a bunch of points. I even heard gilbert say on the nba live 08 commercial that last year nobody wanted to play us, and i hate to say this about my cavs but, if gilbert would have played against them. Cleveland would have been out in the first round, but washington would have lost to detroit. Miami has two good point gaurds now, didn't you hear that they got smush parker? Of course, miami needs two centers, but with a healthy dwade i believe that miami will be in the nba finals against the suns. Two worm weather cities playing against each other.I can't see any team except, hmmm, i don't know but maybe, just maybe, if boston can get lucky maybe they can beat miami, but besides the big three i don't really see anybody beating a healthy wade, and his heat in the east, i strongly believe that it will be phoenix and miami. But the only doubt that i have is if marion from phoenix actually does get traded like he wanted to that would be devestating in my opinion for the suns.

I've read your post completely, but I want to quote just this part.

First of all, don't be stupid.
In the East, there are at least 7-8 teams better than Heat.

Here are the Heat

Jason Williams: now he's a bad player, often injuried he can't give so much to Heat
Wade: the heart of this team
Walker: he isn't so good anymore
Mourning: still a fantastic stopper but 37 years old
Shaq: isn't as good as 5 years ago
Penny: is it a joke?
Smush: he is good, but very very inconstant
Haslem: he shouldn't be a starter

Boston
Perkins: young and athletic center
KG: do ya need some words to describe what he can do?
PP: very talented player, he can get clutch shots, a lot of offensive choices
Ray "He got game"
Eddie House: fantastic shooter:
Rondo fast and "crazy"
James Posey (ex Heat)

New York
Starbury - Crawford - Q-Rich - Zach - Curry - David Lee - Nate Robinson - Balkman - Fred Jones

Toronto
Bosh - TJ - Bargnani - Calderon - Garbajosa - Anthony Parker - Kapono (ex Heat)

Chicago
Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Noah, Ben Wallace
Tyrus Thomas, Khryapa, Nocioni, Sefolosha, duhon

Detroit
Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Sheed, Webber
rodney stuckey, flip murray, afflalo

New Jersey
Vincredible, Kidd, Richard Jefferson, Krstic, Magloire.. amazing starting five
Nachbar, Sean Williams, Darrell Armstrong (as old as Penny but much better than him actually)

Magic
Nelson, Ariza, Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, Dwight
JJ redick, Gortat, Battie

Bobcats
Felton, Matt Carroll, Jason Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Okafor
Herrmann, Sean May, Adam Morrison, Jared Dudley

Miami will never arrive at Conference Finals, Finals and something like those. They could also miss the playoffs.

I have a small pre-season prediction and I think the Suns will make the Finals in the West. Not sure about the East this year. It's gonna be competitive. I had my 1st glimpse of Boston last night. They are really scary, but Raptors can beat them. Cause they have no one to guard TJ Ford and Bargnani!!!

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, I actually don't think the Heat will get near the finals either, but the statements you made about these players could've been said a year and a half ago as well and been just as true as they are today... and they won the championship that year. Just don't write them off yet.
New York
Starbury - Crawford - Q-Rich - Zach - Curry - David Lee - Nate Robinson - Balkman - Fred Jones

I disagree with this. I personally only think Curry, Zach and Lee will post (no pun intended) good numbers, but I know many others think differently. Even so, they will not finish with a better record than Miami and you can quote me on that come April.
Bobcats

I am a Bobcats fan, I like Felton, Wallace, Derek Anderson and Richardson... but I don't think Richardson will be their savior, as many people seem to be marking him. I don't think the addition of him is enough to boost this team to the playoffs, although I'm still hoping that they get there.

I watched the Raptors game yesterday, too. (Missed the game against Roma today, gonna catch the replay in half an hour). I don't think the Raptors are going to be able to beat the Celtics this year, I'm predicting them to sweep the season series. Yesterdays game wasn't very useful, as each team pulled their starters in the third quarter. I would've loved to see Pierce, Allen, Garnett, Bargnani, Parker, Ford and Bosh on the floor when it was a three point game, but that would've been a bad coaching move and the bench players deserved to be out there.
What's the reasoning behind the strange starting line-ups? Last year Rasho played great for the Raptors, but yesterday they started Ford, Parker, Kapono, Bargnani and Bosh and today they started Ford, Parker, Delfino, Bargnani and Bosh. I don't think either of those line-ups are a good look for them, too perimeter oriented for Bosh to get a lot of touches. Oh well, I guess the pre-season is the time to experiment if you're going to.

Vince Carter not on the all star team one or two? Come on.

Come on, Vince Carter's days of making an All-NBA team are long done. He only did it twice, making the All-NBA third team in 2000 and All-NBA second team in 2001... and those were days when he was considered to be near Kobe Bryant's level, now if you even try to compare the two it's laughable.
