Fact Sheets for PC/PS2, 360/PS3, Wii *New Info*

Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:20 am

From EA's info website
http://info.ea.com/products/title.php?id=837

PC/PS2
The fact sheet for the PC page is different from the next generation ones. The only omission from the NG versions for the PC/PS2 versions is the Quick Strike Ball Handling.

Now granted, the info page for the PS2 version of Live 07 said there would be ESPN motion, sig shots, ect. But that info page was identical to the NG ones. These 08 pages are different, and directly from EA, but I don't know if we should completely trust this information.

This is the "fact sheet" that you can download.

NBA LIVE 08

Damn, still nothing for the PSP.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:19 am

Great looking out. (Y)

That sounds very promising, hopefully the Q&A I sent off will be able to confirm those features for the PC and PS2 versions.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:46 am

I remember last year in the PC section it said we would have ESPN radio and sig shots. Is that false advertising? All we had was a news thing when playing online, I was really hoping for at least a ticker at the bottom when playing the game.

I am not going to believe any of this for the PC version.

# " FIBA World Championship Mode- Compete in an eight team international tournament using authentic FIBA rosters and teams, including, the United States, Spain, France, and more.
# " ESPN Integration*- The worldwide leader in sports, will keep you up to date in the world of sports from the in game scrolling sports ticker, ESPN Radio and ESPN News.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:09 am

well, the ticker is in the online matchup lobby *yay*

and if you want to check "false advertising" take a look at the back of the PC box, look at the jerseys.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:04 pm

whoa...
that gave me hope for the new features to be in the pc version...
but the quickstrike ballhandling is not in it...

I believe we've heard this before

Question is will EA actually deliever this year on the ESPN material or juat give us the cold shoulder again.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 1:56 pm

The Wii version has the regular dynasty mode doesn't it? I'm not sure if I've heard anything on the Wii version's dynasty mode or lack thereof. Surely, dynasty mode is just second nature in all versions, but who knows.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 2:47 pm

great!

Tue Sep 11, 2007 3:14 pm

And I dont see the own the paint feature on the videos for the ps2...

Tue Sep 11, 2007 5:06 pm

If the quick-strike feature's not included then wtf improvement will they make? I saw some videos of the PS 2 version and it sucks badly !!! It's a 5% improved version of the 07(the most f*d up ever) !! I'm sure the PC version will be a lot similar to the PS 2 version so this is shaping up to be another spit in the face of the PC community ! If only 2k would make a PC version...anyway if 08 won't have major improvement I won't even think of buying it this year ! I hope i'm wrong dough!

Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:17 pm

keem21, in the IGN preview, they said that post controls have been tightened up a lot. That probably just means all those FSS scorer post moves now happen naturally.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:21 pm

Woo, finally something about PC version of the game,

great news, sounds promising, signature go-to moves will be included., hope it will be confirmed soon.

quick strike should be there, it will be a big miss if it isnt included.

i hope 08 will really improve. Hoping it will going to fit in my pc

Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:22 am

having just watch the 4 vids on IGN, i've come to the conclusion that w'ere going to fucked over again by ea.

The so called "signature moves" video has no new sig-animations. Check it out for yourself.....All the moves that each player performs are just standard moves which are current in 07. Even the other "in-game" vids look just like 07 with a court, uniform and roster update. Looks like "the writing on the wall" for us loyal pc live fans... EA want us to buy a 360 or ps3.

So who i am i to stand in their way, I will gladly purchase a xbox 360 and then will eagerly purchase a copy of nba2k8 just to shove a 2ksports fist up EA's arsehole for their lack of respect to the fans.

Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:42 am

Cy BerFuk, u'r absolutely right ! 08 doesn't live up even to 2k7....now with 2k8 coming out I'm sure anybody who's mentally sane will choose 2k8 !!!

Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:58 am

Wow they must have sunk to a new low. This has got to be the first "upgrade" to a game I've seen where you can't even notice 1 single gameplay difference in multiple videos provided. So who is gonna be the first to post a side by side of 07 and 08...

Wed Sep 12, 2007 1:27 am

I feel like I should make a list of people surprised by this, and submit it to the new Forum Sargent. He will drill some sense into them.

Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:54 am

Yeah, I didn't find also any new thing in gameplay, not even one!

I'm certainly NOT surprised. I'm surprised that people are surprised... How many years does EA have to ram another crappy PC game up our asses before people realize that they don't give two shits about the PC users? I'm just excited that they are actually going to have ANY new features for LIVE 08... Especially Own the Paint and FIBA...

Wed Sep 12, 2007 4:27 am

Need to say this. Jeez, when I saw that - http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/900/900782/vids_1.html - i almost landed on the floor! Goddamit what a crap! It is worse than I thought. Look at this video Boston vs Lakers. First of all, this gameplay was made probably by some stupid amateur because it looks like he don't know HOW TO PLAY!!! My God, it really IS the worst NBA Live! Truth is, my man T-Mac (I thought nba 07 was the ugliest) can sleep well now, because Arenas will be taking all punches from PC & PS2 users. But my God I can't even forget about this video... It's like 07 - can someone show some differences between 08 & 07? I can't.
I am a real die hard fan, I love to play b-ball on my PC, I thought that the gameplay will be better, graphics and other sh.t are less important. But now, the best feature is Dynasty Mode and simulation button ;) Maybe it would be a good manager-type of game. I better start getting used to a gamepad and start saving money for XBox360 or PS3.
NBA Live for PCs - RIP

Wed Sep 12, 2007 5:44 am

i just hope it doesnt have that dam quit bug in it like last year's game when game ends or when u quit a game.

Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:59 am

how hard can it possibly be to do a simple port of the 360 version for us

The PC run-down seems to suggest that some of the new Dynasty Mode features will be implemented, though that remains to be seen.
