Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Man.. the shorts look more and more like skirts with every picture... you can fit like their entire body in like one short leg... seriously. That one with Baron is pretty good, you can see how the fingers are just on the surface of the ball. In the one with TJ Ford, it looks like his hands are too big for his arm, or that his wrists are broken from the angle they are.

Jeez OW! Those short legs are huge. I could crawl through one of those short legs, I've never seen a short leg that BIG lol.
It's like 5x bigger than it should be.
lol, EA NEEDS to fix that, I won't buy there game just because of that if they keep that problem in it lol.
Also, in the screen with tony parker and mike bibby, why is mike bibby in a kings jersey? He should be in a cavaliers jersey!

I think part of the reason why the shorts look a lot bigger is because the upper and lower legs haven't been done propotionately. The thighs look too damn skinny compared to the lower legs in the pics that I've seen. They look ok otherwise.

You know, it makes you wonder how we as gamers always instantly find things that are wrong or just plain weird, yet the developers are blind to them.
I also find it odd how they tailored the shorts to be that wide AND the legs a bit too skinny. At least the legs seem to be skinny on all players, when in reality that differs from body to body of course.
Why is it so hard to cover the basics for EA...
Even though I am looking forward to playing nba live 08, it does not keep me from being suspicious towards the end product this year.

A few things....
- I find it strange that someone wouldn't buy an otherwise great product because the shorts are to baggy or legs to thin. I read these board every day, and I'm sure that both of these complaints were originated by me, but it's not the most important thing to me.
- In EA's defense, after having watched every single movie or clip available. I haven't noticed this to be a problem in the game. And I've looked. To me this a very minor annoyance.

Thank god they won't make those ghey shorts for PC. Thanks for the pics.

Why does T.J Ford not look like T.J Ford, And Yao Ming's chest makes him look like some kind of body builder, it's either his chest is to big or his head is really small.

When watching the videos of the game you don't notice the shorts, but when it's paused like that it really makes the game look bad. They have to fix their legs.

Thanks for the heads up, posted on the main page.

Still needs to be proven, no way to tell yet...

I'm guessing bosiydid6 was being hypothetical there, suggesting that it would be odd to dismiss a game based on a couple of nitpicks with the visuals even if everything else was great and lived up to our expectations.

True.
It's just that I find it annoying when you got someone telling you "stop whining, stop being picky, blah blah blah" each time you mention something that looks obviously strange/unrealistic on screenshots or videos. I mean, isn't that what we're here for? Of course we can't assume things that we're not seeing (mostly the gameplay in this case), but I don't think it's a crime to point out stuff that definitely needs to be improved...

Absolutely. But at the same time there is a certain contingent of people who overreact to visual flaws and certain minor details, as well as drawing conclusions about other elements of the game (eg "the player models are off, so Dynasty Mode must suck"), things which we really can't ascertain from screenshots. I remember back when NBA Live 2002 was released, one forum member made a huge fuss over the fact a team selection interface was labelled "City" which wasn't appropriate for teams like Minnesota, Utah or Golden State. A valid point but hardly something that completely ruins the game (and not the most pressing issue with that instalment of Live anyway).

I see where you're coming from Andrew. Live 08 seems to be doing most, if not all the basics right when it comes to gameplay. Visuals seem terrific too. I doubt that a slight anomaly like this would spoil the experience. Although it wouldn't hurt if they could fix this up
