was this mod ever completed, or is it still in progress? sorry to seem dumb, but this is the first time i got on this thread since last winter and i skimmed through the pages of this thread and didn't see any download links, so i thought i'd ask. i'm really looking forward to playing some ncaa basketball and was really disappointed when the mods from the last couple of years never got completed. i'm not getting antsy or pushy. i think you modders are doing a super job and it's guys like you that make these games a lot more fun to play. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

This mod is pretty much discontinued untill other patchers start helping out.. Im just sick of doing this with just two people.. (Me & Zeller) plus with only like 3 people supporting doesnt help.
I want this mod to be big like TUP or the Euroleague but people just dont watch College Hoops in the NBA Live section..

At this point, a fair amount of people have moved on to NBA 2K. My suggestion would be to maintain a beta release with what you've got so far, I think that would create some interest and you'd likely find a fair amount of people would download it. Because so many NCAA mods have fallen through in the past, I'd also suggest that some people find it difficult to get hyped by previews. A lot of previews at once also tend to overwhelm people.

So again, my advice would be to package what's been done so far in a mod that's suitable for release and put it out there. Once people start downloading and playing it and giving feedback, then you can start making updates as necessary. These days I don't get a huge response to the current roster updates either but people are still downloading them and showing an interest in them. This thread has over 16,00 views; I'd go by that rather than the number of replies in gauging people's interest.

I guess i could release a beta but the thing is that players with no CF's has blank faces not C.A.P faces..
Would it be too much to ask wheres the appropriate place to upload this mod? In the Miscellaneous section? Or could you create a extra category for mods other than TUP?

For a beta release, you could leave those faces out. Failing that, I'd still suggest using the generic faces that are used for generated rookies. Pick ones that kind of look like the players that need faces and use them as placeholders. That's what I do with the current roster updates when there isn't a face patch available.

In other words:

1. Find a generic face that resembles the player that's missing one (same skin tone, similar hairstyle and facial hair)
2. Make a copy of the face file in the sgsm folder, with the appropriate PLAYERPKG
3. Assign the same PLAYERPKG value in players.dbf

That way in the beta, the player does have a face that kind of looks like them (good enough for beta and not to distract the user as a missing texture error would). When you do get a proper face for them, it's just a matter of overwriting the generic face file and you're good to go. Anyone installing an updated version of the mod will also be right to go, since the rosters they're using will have the correct PLAYERPKG, now with an updated (real) face file to go along with it.

jetsfool and zeller - keep up the great work. you guys don't get thanked enough for your efforts. as long as the teams artwork, courts, and unis are in the downloads, it should satisfy most players because we can all edit the rosters if need be. it would just be great to have a ncaa playable game again since the manufacturer's want to ignore pc owners and do all of their college football and basketball games for the consoles only. i really like the college game and don't care much anymore for the slam dunk league ( nba )

i downloaded the beta files, but could you tell me which files go into which folders in the game. i was going to assume the .dbf files would go into c:/documents and settings/nba live '08/originaldbf, but you know what assume does, so i'd rather not assume and make sure i do it right.

Rosters are placed in the save folder. All other files are placed in the sgsm folder or subfolders in sgsm as noted on the respective downloads pages.
