Jaosming when i add the location to my saved game, can i still pick the standard courts to ?

Great courts accept sometimes at certain courts such as the tandy court your view gets blcoked by a wall which is not cool, are you going to release a modified camera for this or something ? I normaly always use the court camera.

Tomackze, ppjoy should still work for 08 if you want to use it.

csepelball, I will be making a street aiact eventually. I couldnt use what I did in 07 and I wanted to do better than that anyway. It is possible to make a not square backboard...but its just a pain and doesnt really look too good after.

Morpheus, once you throw that location dbf in you can only select the street courts and not the NBA courts anymore, that is why you should copy an existing roster.

Also, Unfortunately, these courts only allow the side cameras. I only tested the skybox camera. In the future I will be trying to make sure that all cameras work on the new courts.

Great news jaosming, maybe you can also find a way to just add them as new courts so you can still select the NBA courts to.

Can you tell us how to change dunk files?With what program,so maybe we can do it by ourselves,cus they use inly a couple of dunks in the game.

they took out a lot of dunks from 07, but if you want to try use EAgraph to export and import from the aiact.viv and use notepad to edit the dunk.act

Thanx for the answear,but I cant find dunk.act file.In what folder is it?
And can you somehow edit diffence in the game?I think that the oroblem are bad and soft contacts betwen the players.They need to be much harder.Can you edit that?Or is there maybe a way to make gameplay sliders have values like 200%?Cus I did that to damage multiplayers in some racing games.In the game you could fix it to 100,but in some text files in game dir you could change that to 200 or 300 or whatever.I hope you know what I mean....

nba live 08 / ai / act folder then inside the aiact.viv, you have export the dunk.act, then edit it, then import it back into the aiact.viv. There currently isnt a real tutorial for that file as of right now but if you search the 06 or 07 sections of this forum you may find something useful.

I dont really, i think you mean if I can make the game harder or not. Well my response for this is to not exploit the issues in the defensive AI. Dont just run towards the basket on every play. Work the ball around, try and find better shots or try and set up a set play or something. Just have some control over yourself and not go freestyle freestyle dunk every possession.

That is what I do,actually.my attacks are jumshots 90% of the time.But still,defense is lame.And even if I dont dunk,AI will dunk all the time.And actually,the biggest problem is the score.Its allways even,cus you cant stop any attack,nor,the AI can stop yours.So there cant be any strategy in the game,and you cant win or lose because you played well.You win if you hit the last shot,and if you miss it,you lose.Thats all.07 was much much much better.You really had to work hard to score any basket.So,just please have in mind the difense,and if you find the way to fix it,please do it,but if not,never mind,I aint that important...
What program do I use for extracting dunk.act?

you gotta edit the teamgear.dbf to add the jerseys, search the forums for a tutorial or maybe even the wiki.


I did manage to convert the dunk.act from my street 07 AIACT. Here is a short preview video. (It should automatically turn to a streaming page soon if it hasnt already) The dunks work fine but Im going to work on the passing end of things next. More on that and a release hopefully by tomorrow night.

hey Jao, could you alter the AIACT to make Live 08 more realistic? the cpu opponent pg would always pass the ball to his star player and they would right away shoot/drive in and score. There's no ball movement or strategy when playing against the cpu, it's always one-pass shoot...Thanks

Animation Update has been released. I included a batch file for installation. Just extract all the files into the NBA Live 08 and run the batch file. It will automatically backup your current aiact.viv and should install everything in it's proper areas.

The new animation files do work with original aiact.vivs. I imported 07's dunk and passing animation files to get the bounce and self alleyoop animations back.

The fancy passing is included; just hold down the pass button a little longer and they player will do a playmaker pass.

Pdub's "dimez" 07 ai is included as well. It should make the CPU a little tougher when they are on offense and make them use the new animations.

Is it posible to do a self alleyoop in the real game?
And you really seem to be magician with thouse nba files.When I opened that dunk file I thought it was written in cheenese ,I really don't understand how you do it,but you edit it and you edit it good!So can you please just try to import at least some part of defense from 07,cus I really liked 07s defense.And I am 100% sure that if you fix this A LOT of people would be grateful.A LOT!Cus that is the worst part of 08.So please if you find some time try to do it.

Can you make one of your street courts a default practice court?Or can you do it by myselve somehow?Street court from 04(I think) would be perfect!
