oh my god..no own the paint moves?
that just ruined it for me.
getting to do post moves were the only reason i was considering to try 08 for the PC.
nice advertising by EA..i swore they included Own the paint in the feature list for PS2/PC. Seems like every year their website guy "makes a mistake".

it is on the features list, the post moves are the same as 07.
Opinions are my own.

Thanks for your impressions.
I´ve got a question: What about quickstrike ball handling?

Yep they did. The only thing that sucks about that is every game you have to goto the substitution screen to turn on autosubs if you want your players to be subbed automatically.

What about the responsiveness of the controls? That was one of the big advertised things for next gen, and one of the big problems last year. Are the animations interruptable and do they transition well, or is it still pass the ball, wait 5 seconds as your guy catches it, turns around while you can't do anything; pray he doesn't get locked up in an extended tie up animation, blah blah blah, just transitions between separate canned animations instead of really controlling anything directly, more like a choose your own adventure book.

Did they fix that????

I dont have any issues with the responsiveness. The only thing I can think of is you cant do freestyle dribbling if your player is protecting the ball with their body.

Other than that it feels like 07 and I didnt have an issue with responsiveness in 07. So it could just be me.

Of course, I did my usual play with rosters more than playing the game with '07.

I just played a little just now, it wasn't too bad, but my frustrations with responsiveness were:

guys getting locked up or 'engaged' with a defender and being unable to jump to block or rebound;

having to punch the steal button 3 or 4 times to get the guy to do anything, and half the time he just waves his arm nowhere near the ball - it seemed like i have to line up the player at some bizarre angle to steal the ball just to match the weird angle he jabs his arm out at.

all the jump shots seem to be double clutch, shot on the way down, not quick enough.

those were the things bothering me

Hey, Jao, I don't know if I missed it, but what are the new features in the Dynasty Mode, so far I didn't hear practically anything, just Gamespot(or someone else) saying "deep dynasty mode"... So what about it?

The only one I know of is the "situations" where when you do the intervention style of simulation you can jump into the game with 3:00 left and you're up 10 points. And stuff like that.

I havent really gotten into dynasty mode yet.

Well if that's the truth, I'm really dissapointed about it... I was hoping to see the free-agent signing mini-game stuff, all other new features... Waiting for a you to really explore the dynasty mode...

So do guys get so locked up on defense that they can't jump to block or rebound anymore? I hated that.

again, I havent had issues with rebounding or blocking. I have some work to get done today but later I will play some dynasty games and stuff to try and better answer both of your questions.

JaoSming wrote:goto moves look nothing like 360, they are naturally occuring FSS moves from 07 (not really a bad thing)

I found it interesting that Chris Paul among others have goto alleyoop passes, keeps things interesting for sure.

Lebron has a sig fadeaway but not a sig normal shot.

They changed the right analog stick on the defensive side of things. If you hold up (to get the player to contest a shot or keep hands up) and the offensive player shoots or shot fakes, the hands up turns into a blocking animation (auto block if you will) also if you hold down on it, the game will "auto guard" the ball handler if you are close to them. Its kinda like the left trigger in the 360 version.

the PG is a pussy, if you put pressure on him he will back off and pass. Good and bad, but id like to see a little more drive. But overall, the AI is a lot better (almost as good as pdubs....almost)

Cameras, Skybox (as seen in the videos), broadcast (kinda like 06's press box, it moves), Lower bowl (kinda centercourt like, but higher), the 1 baseline (i think mid) and a "On Court" camera as seen in the Wii videos.

They fixed the "off the backboard pass" for practice 1v1 and allstar games (in 07 if you tried it from the side it would just go out of bounds)

Menus are nice, I like the videos taking up the entire background.

As for the videos, they have no sound  and arent the best of quality because I want to get them uploaded asap. Later Ill try and do a sig shot video and stuff which will be better quality.

POST WHAT PLAYERS YOU WANT ME TO TRY IN PRACTICE MODE

OOH OHH OHH!

LOWER BOWL CAMERA IS LIKE CENTER COURT ? HOW MUCH IT IS ?

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME PLEASE SEND A VIDEO WITH
THAT CAMERA
