Offensive/Defensive Reb IQ's up +50...Is that for the 2-3 players or the whole team?

Am i missing something here?
NBA Live 2008 settings on Xbox 360 are all in Slider format, I do not see how i can accurately set them. Can this view be changed so i can see them as numbers, eg Med Range Shooting 35.

Yep all players....that should put them all close to 90 or higher for rebounding IQ.
This doesn't efect their rebounding ability it just helps them to grab more rebounds in mid air especially with the box out ratings increased.
You'll see some rebounds hit the floor but this will take away 75-80% of that garbage during games.

This is one of the worst parts of the game. EA didn't include a number system. You have to count upwards or downwards for each click starting at Default 50 which silly.

Playmaker. Can you put those in your EALocker so they we can use these. I dont have a memory card (thats why I bought the Elite) so I cant download all your hard work. Any suggestions anyone.

Playmakers,
The new settings are good. I didn't see not one ball roll out of bounds. Those guys totally went for the rebound on every shot. I would like to see the alter shot a little higher, but the game played great eventhough Joe Johnson busted 38 points on me!! and had 6 rebounds with 3 assists and 1 block shot .........wait a minute....I think that's what he scores in real life!! The speed of the game is perfect. It felt like it should be and the guys played smart. I think the final score was 86 to 80. The CPU played very smart eventhough they lost. It seemed like in the 4th quarter is when the hawks started playing hard and Joe Johnson couldn't be stopped. If you can add a little more alter to shooting and a little more emphasis on more defensive pressure, which would be damn near perfect!! Your work is greatly appreciated!
I also want to add that I worked very hard to win the game and I had to play smart.......which means set up plays, pass the ball around, and take good shots.
Peace

I'l try to see what ratings i can lower just slightly to free up more points towards defense. I can gurantee anything because right now have the teams in good order as far as overall ratings.
I'll test out the INT ratings by lowering them since that doesn't reflect any SIM stats for players and you we can always increase the INT slider on the Slider bar to balance it out.
I also want to add that I worked very hard to win the game and I had to play smart.......which means set up plays, pass the ball around, and take good shots.

hey playmakers, who are you letting upload your rosters onto EA Locker for you? will we have to be on their buddy list? are you still doing this?

PLAYMAKER HURRY UP!!!!! I'm dying to play my dynasty mode! Thanks man. You saved Live 07 last year!

not touching Live until play maker puts out his latest sliders.
* Devin Harris should not be doing a 360 dunk in traffic
* Tony Parker should not be able to do a pro hop, pause and throw down a 2 handed dunk.
* I play with Kobe, but every time he gets close to the basket it's a dunk attempt. Kobe gets about 2-3 dunks per game (depending on the team). I saw Allen Iverson do a scoop layup (which looked amazing) as he went across the goal (not his go to move).
Would lowering the vertical or dunk ability alliviate this problem? I there are some high risers in the league, but not that many that do spectacular dunks in games (with the exception of someone like Vince carter).
Also, it seems harder to hit 3 pointers. I know this is to help with keeping the scores more less on the arcade side, but wow... it's just harder to get any love, especially when you work the ball around.
The auto-subs are great. players 6-10 were getting around 15 minutes per game, when playing 12 minute quarters. Now I'm playing 8, so I think they are at around 10 per game. I might play 9 minute quarters depending on how your next update goes.
Injuries. How has this been working for everyone? I've been playing Live forever, and I think I've had 1 injury the whole time.
Yeah, but Playmaker..the game play is definately improved. I don't even play online that much anymore (recently though, because im waiting for this update) The CPU gives me good competition and every team plays differently.
Alright man, let us know whats going on. I don't want 2K this year, I know Live is a good game and combined with your sliders will give me everything that I need. Also, what's up with Ronnie Turiaf not being in the game?

I totally agree with those points that you mentioned. I could play 9 or 10 minute quarters depending on the update as well. I think if defense was just a little bit tougher, the score would be closer to realistic points at 10 minutes per quarter.
Also injuries would be great. I probably played 30 games with the CPU and some friends and I have not seen one injury. That would be nice to see from time to time.
I really do like the fact that it's harder to shoot 3 pointers!!!...Because I would hate to see 30 three pointers dropped in one game. It just makes you want to take selective shots and not just shoot 3's the whole game.

Yeah, but Kobe, Walton, Radmanovich, Fisher, Cook, Evans (decent to good 3 point shooters) give me like 1 three a game. I don't play with any other team, so I don't know if they are feeling the same affect. It just ends up making me give the ball to Kobe and isolate or throw it in the post to get the nearly automatic low post score.

I think they should bring playmaker in for these community events (if hasn't already been invited), since he's been saving the hardcore live fans.

Well the update should help with that...I'm sure! Did you try his test update? Inside scoring was cut in half. The player was attacking the basket like they were on steroids… I play with the Rockets and Lakers as well. It seemed that the outside scoring was a lot easer to me but the game was still hard to control, and very close in points. Check playmakers test settings. You will see a lot more fluid movement to the player and better out side shooting.
I still would like tighter defensive pressure! I want to give pressure off the ball the whole game!!! I want my nuts in their face the whole damn game!!! Also would like to see a hard foul with the player hitting the floor in pain! (More injuries PLEASE)
I also understand that playmakers can only do so much with what he’s working with. I like the new update a lot better and that was just a test. Can’t wait to play the finish product!

It's too much of a tease to only play the test of it. I'm ready to start my dynasty mode

I'm just going to be patient. I want to play a full season of Dynasty, all 82 games...that's my goal this yeah. And then next simulate the regular season and just play the play offs from then on out. I haven't played a full 82 games since NBA Live 95 (12 minute quarters, plus play offs and finals).

95-2000 was the good old days!!! What happened too EA after 2000? You know I still have them all, and the boxes are all in good condition.
Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:29 am
Yeah, I got Live 1995-2001, then I got NBA 2K2. 2001 made me sick to my stomach, it was just run and gun, run and gun...then NBA Live 2003 brought me back, happy with 2004, 2005...then I bought a 360....I loved NBA LIVE 2006 (online only) it was a good fun arcade game...I was just blown away by the next gen graphics so I let the lack of features slide....after all they didnt have much time to work with the system. Then NBA Live 2007 came out, I kinda liked it...but the game play wasn't next gen...I then added playmakers sliders and it made the game play better but it was still lacking. I then bought NBA 2k7...highly overrated but it was a better game....but I wasn't in love with it as I was in love with NBA 2K2. I then bought MM07 and College Hoops 2K7....MM07 satisifed my hoops desire last season.
Now I have NBA Live 08...I'm in love with this game, and playmaker says he can make this game even better...makes my me want to play this game even more. I'm going to rent 2K8 later on just to test it.
Anyway, Playmaker...you've been silent.
Sun Oct 14, 2007 9:07 am
Ok I moved the team specific ratings to the front page.
Every thing that will be on the file once complete you can check out on the front page.
Some of the ratings that were dropped had to be done in order to bring more defense into the game. The ratings that were dropped doesn't effect any sim stats really.
I'll also post as many teams as I can and show their point total for each rating I utilized. The Global ratings keep in mind will apply to all teams which is quicker for guy's who don't have an 360 transfer kit.
I work really late but once I'm off be busy trying to wrap this thing up soon. Might not post again until I'm done.
