does that mean hot spots can change? as a player improves from a rookie to a vet i am sure he gets better a shooting so one can assume they would change.

Yes, this was answered in another post before...

HANDS ON REPORT- http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/ ... ed;title;1

"in NBA Live 08's franchise mode, that hot spot information will be tracked dynamically and will adjust over the course of a season. "

This is new news I haven't seen in any other articles... I do like this idea though....Making the franchise mode more dynamic will lead to a longer game experience IMO!

Hey Andrew, how's the atmosphere in the build you played? Does the game give the feel and excitement of the NBA? Do the announcers seem more involved? Would you say that the game made you feel hyped to play?

Thanks.

That's actually one of the things I really liked about the change from the "temple" gym to the selectable NBA team practice courts. I prefer the real practice courts as it does add that NBA atmosphere that the temple court lacked. The updated camera angle helps as well since the presentation tries to mimic an NBA broadcast; the default angle has been changed to more of a realistic angle seen on TV which I find preferable to previous press cams and the default baseline angle that was the default for many years.

How are the playbooks, and do the plays run smoothly like they should..and not just pick and rolls..but like plays that open up shotting oppurtunites

for EX: a double screen or something like it..that would get t-mac open for the 45 degree midrange

You do see that a bit more often. The game doesn't do everything for you but your CPU teammates don't seem quite as dumb when it comes to taking opportunities and running plays. You can still call plays and run the show, of course.

Hey Andrew when you were playing Live 08 how good was the off ball movement in general. Was it good enough to the point where you could be successful just letting the offense flow on its own or was it better to just run plays.

I'm getting pretty restless with the wait of the Dynasty news. The suspense is killing me. The news better be good because they're making us wait a while for the news. Andrew: Because you can't tell us anything about Dynasty until the embargo date (whenever that is), can you at least rate the news out of 10 for us 0 being the worst and 10 being the best??? You'd be taking into consideration all the features from the wishlist. Things like MLE, hiring and firing your coaching staff (including your head coach), editing players during dynasty, practises (mini-games) to help your players develop, etc.... Thanks for your time Andrew!!

Sorry for the late reply on this one. There'll be an advantage in playcalling and you can certainly run the offense if you want but your teammates do seem smarter in comparison to previous years when it comes to taking advantages of open lanes to the basket and so forth.

It's difficult to put a rating on it but there's definitely some Wishlist items that have been addressed. There are still a few things that aren't in there this year which will come as a disappointment but the changes and additions they have made are things I'm very much in favour of.

I'll speculate a little on this one....I think they'll finally enhance the awful trading interface that has been killing this franchise for years...I personally, and I know Andrew wants it changed as well, would love this change for dynasty....I would also guess nothing has been added with the coach hire/fire add-on. To me this feature doesn't make sense since you already act as the coach anyway. Why would you want to fire yourself? Finally, I do believe they will add a user controlled training system to your team, where you can play drills yourself and accumulate points for your players based on your performance on the drills. A very worthy addition IMO....Time will tell

As I've been cleared to talk about Dynasty Mode, I've posted my report from the NBA Live 08 Community Day, which you can read here. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them as best as possible via email, PM, news comments and of course in this thread.

Ok Andrew, great report! I always hated the "extra time" you had to spend getting work done in dynasty mode, ie (trades, stats, scouting info) so the Push system sounds very promising! A few questions hopefully you can answer... 1. Did they add any user controllled training with player progression or is it still the assistant "simulating it" for you? 2.Did you notice if they addressed dynasty issues like draft guards being smaller than normal, or teams picking for need instead of best player available? 3. What about draft day trades? Im sure i'm forgetting somethings though.

1. Still the same simulated training/development ratings system.

2. Like the stats there seemed to be some improvement but I didn't get to do enough simulating to get an idea of what the norm was. We did bring that up during the day though as one of the things that's been problematic.

3. There's no draft day trades. Picks are also still signed automatically so there's no trading of draft rights.

Thanks Andrew for the great report. Some questions: 1. Is there player chemistry from last year where the players communicate with you on how well they get along with other players on the team, market sze, playing time... etc? 2. Can you trade more than just three players at a time as they said you can make blockbuster trades? 3. Can you go over the limit of 15 players but the release them to after a trade to have 15? Thanks.
