Trade Rumors:

Clippers could trade for Deng using no. 8 pick

The Clippers may trade their No. 8 pick to Chicago for Luol Deng and the Bulls' 17th pick, according to a source that spoke with Chris Broussard.

Broussard later spoke with a rep from one of the clubs and was told it is not going to happen.

RealGM Note: This trade could not be completed on draft night due to the Clippers needing to use their cap space to absorb Deng's contract.

I think this is going to be a good news for KJ if this trade will happen. lol

Wizards, Magic might be talking Arenas for Carter swap

According to a trusted source, the Wizards and Magic might be discussing a trade involving Gilbert Arenas for Vince Carter.

Michael Lee of the Washington Post confirmed the discussions, but there is 'nothing to it now.'

RealGM Note: Arenas is close to Magic GM Otis Smith from his time in the Golden State front office.

Would love to see it happen because I'm a Bulls fan, I wouldn't be keen on the deal if I were a Clippers fan. Right now, I doubt it happens though.

agreed, LAC would be doing CHI a favor.....giving them(CHI) a better chance at LBJ and taking themselves(LAC) out of LBJ

latest sources say talk is dead and CHI will keep their 17th pick

Bulls to send Hinrich, 17th pick to Wizards

The Bulls have a trade in place that would send guard Kirk Hinrich and the No. 17 pick to the Wizards, sources told ESPN.com's Ric Bucher.

The move would free up enough cap space for Chicago to sign two max-level free agents this summer.

The deal can't be consummated until July 8, when Washington will have enough room under the cap to absorb Hinrich's contract without having to send anything back in return.

Hinrich can play SG
Foye should play SG, no PG
Arenas can play SG
Shuan Livingston is technically still a Wizard and is a PG

Nets Sign Undrafted Rookies Uzoh, Zoubek

The New Jersey Nets have signed free agents Ben Uzoh and Brian Zoubek, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not released.

Uzoh, 6’3”/205, was undrafted out of Tulsa. The four-year senior guard averaged 13.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 141 career games, including 140 starts. Uzoh was named First Team All-Conference USA as a senior and Second Team All-Conference USA as a junior and sophomore. The Texas native shares the school record for career games played with 141, while ranking in the top 10 in school history in 11 categories, including points, assists, steals, rebounds and blocks.

Zoubek, 7’1”/260, is an undrafted rookie center out of Duke. As a senior, Zoubek played in all 40 contests, helping the Blue Devils capture a National Championship while averaging 5.6 points and 7.7 rebounds on .638 (90-141) shooting from the field. For his career, the New Jersey native averaged 4.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 133 games, which included started in 37 contests.

Gooden, Bucks Reach $32M Deal

The Bucks and forward Drew Gooden have agreed to terms on a five-year, $32 million contract, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Milwaukee struck the deal early in order to fortify their frontcourt.

They are still trying to retain John Salmons

Suns Agree on $18M, Four-Year Deal With Hakim Warrick

The Suns have agreed to terms on a four-year, $18 million deal with free agent forward Hakim Warrick, sources tell Marc Spears of Yahoo!

Warrick played with the Bucks and Bulls during the 09-10 season.

The signing likely signals the end of Amar'e Stoudemire's tenure with the Suns.

Blake Agrees To Four-Year Deal With Lakers

Steve Blake has agreed to a four-year deal with the Lakers, according to a report from John Canzanao.

According to FanHouse, the deal is worth $16 million over four seasons.

RealGM Note: Blake bounced around the NBA for several seasons before finding a home with the Blazers in his second tenure. He was dealt to the Clippers shortly before the 2010 NBA deadline in a deal that brought Marcus Camby to Portland.

The point guard position was one area where the Lakers addressed as a high priority this offseason.

Amar'e Leaning Towards Knicks

Amar’e Stoudemire(notes) and the New York Knicks are making progress in talks on a five-year, $100 million max contract and a deal could be completed as soon as this weekend, league sources told Y! Sports.

While Stoudemire and the Knicks are still on track to consummate a deal, the All-Star forward may wait until he sits down face-to-face with Knicks officials over the weekend in New York before accepting the offer, a source says. Stoudemire wants to hear the Knicks’ clear plan for whom they plan to surround him with on the floor. Between now and then, the dominos of players committing to teams could still shuffle the deck and give another team a chance to make a run at Stoudemire – perhaps even work a sign-and-trade with Phoenix that would get him a sixth guaranteed season.

Wade Leaning Towards Bulls

Dwyane Wade is leaning toward committing to the Chicago Bulls, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com's Chad Ford on Friday.

Wade requested a second meeting with the Bulls on Friday, according to the source.

Wade needed to clarify issues around possibly joining the Bulls, according to the source.

The Bulls would need to clear additional cap space to sign two players to max contracts.

So it's possible that Chicago could sign LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh...

They'd have to do a sign-and-trade if they want all three. I doubt it happens, but simply getting two (or even just one) would be nice. :)

That's right.. and if they want to sign 3 players in max contract they should trade Luol Deng and even James Johnson to clear additional cap space..

King Dee, i think that still not enough because when they trade away players....their roster spot turns into a cap hold. meaning that even though there is no player with a contract, they have to count for a minimum contract it its place because teams need a minimum of 13 players. so lets say Chicago trades away those players and the $$ from their contract is gone...but then they have only 3 players under contract...meaning their available salary would be:

Salary Cap - Sum of (Contracted 3 players (Rose, Gibson, Noah) + (10remaining roster spots x the minimum salary)) = available money to spend on Free Agents

I don't remember all the numbers, but according to the Larry Coon (he's like the NBA's salary cap master/colletive bargaining agreement no-it-all for the NBA) the Bulls Won't have enough $$ to sign 3 max contracts.

so as Andrew said, if its going to happen...sign-and-trade is the only answer...and Toronto doesn't want Deng...

...with that said, i'd rather see Noah, Bosh, Deng, Wade, Rose....that will be an awesome team plus extra points for Wade being the hometown kid (even MJ wasn't from Chicago!) and Wade's legacy isn't going to contrast with MJ's while LeBrons would. And as great of player LeBron is, and as much of a Magic Johnson > MJ fan i am.....i would never want anyone to overshadow MJ's legacy

If they do this what will Rose do? When Rose's contract finishes he will probably want a quite expensive contract (like 4-5 yr/>40M), what will Bulls be? What the heck now with making a double or triple? Just they need to sign LeBron or Bosh SINGLE.

they can re-sign rose...teams can go over the salary cap to resign players..

the only negative effect is
1) possibility of luxury tax (if they are winning, who cares? they make more money from winning that it should off set it)
2) no salary for the rest of the bench (they would have that problem now...so it wouldnt be anything new)

Yeah... I mean this... Rose will want this because he led the team and he playes like Steve Nash/Chris Paul/Dwyane Wade... despite this he's going to play his just third season... What will be now?
