Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

After some more testing, I'm getting convinced that my simeng.txt talk it's bullshit...

Anyway, I noticed that going to free throw line increases the chances of having a substitution and that the CPU timeout engine is fucked up.... The CPU rarely calls a timeout, causing less substitutions... Another fact, is that the CPU doesn't call a timeout when is getting blew up... The CPU only calls timeouts for substitutions purposes...

Many things in NBA Live 08 are out of tune... in NBA Live 07 were out of tune too...

incredible... After NBA Live 06, EA stopped testing their games... The bugs are damn stupid...

the 06 tuning files do make a difference! It is visible that the cpu subs more intelligently with them - it was smart enough to play all bench players during the 3rd quarter and then put all its starters back in at the beginning of the fourth. It subbed players during the break between the 3rd and 4th quarters, something I don't think I've ever seen before with the original tuning files.

With the 08 files, the setup is :
1st Quarter - Starters first
2nd Quarter - Mixed
3rd Quarter - Mixed
4th Quarter - Starters first again.

But you're right, the 06 tuning files do make a big difference.
As I tested my last fix, it's almost 96% realistic. A bit higher due to the 06 files.

The only problem now is the substitution trigger, if we can only edit it to a more realistic substitution, because until now, I still experience the foul-trouble-no-sub-bug.

Can someone upload more of the 06 tuning files? like suborder.bin, plyrevol.bin

Andrew,

Hope that we can a find a way to fix this issue so that you can update your Official roster with my fatigue ratings matrix. And all I have to do is dig in to the tuning files or whatsoever to make a better substitution.

BTW, when will you release the next Official roster?

Sometime in the next couple of weeks, exact date coming soon. :)

Guys, I need some feedbacks regarding my fatigue fix. Because this can be crucial for the next release of the Official NLSC roster. If my fatigue fix is working then maybe I can ask Andrew to just include it to the Official roster so that I won't have to release a fix every now and then. Thanks!

thanks for this maek ill try this when i get home and for aquifs really thank you bro for also trying to spend your time in fixing the simulation engine. :D

Maek, as I asked before, please explain exactly what you did with the ratings to make this new fix.

As I tried playing the Dynasty™ with Fantasy draft, I suddenly remembered that those who are low in ratings will be drenched their whole career with low fatigue ratings. So I decided to remake my matrix :
46-50 = 55
51-55 = 57
56-60 = 59
61-65 = 61
66-70 = 63
71-75 = 65
76-80 = 67
81-85 = 69
86-90 = 71
91-95 = 73
96-99 = 75

For all the position.

And after testing the substitution trend, I found out that the substitution is quite realistic. In realtime : (Substitution usually happens after 7mins of the 1st quarter)
32/48=X/7
X=(7)(32)/48
X=4.6mins elapsed in the 1st quarter.
The trend I have gathered averages 4mins elapsed in the 1st quarter.
And for overall game substitution, the players' playing time is so realistic.

I guess, I don't have to say it. But you judge it, and give me your feedback.

Best setup :
Aiact = ILT
Tuning files = ILT
Roster = NLSC Official roster (Try adjusting the secondary position of every player. Don't lock down a player to one position only. (It never happens in realtime!)

Thanks!

Ahm Maek when do you release the no lightning setting and the aiact i am using is Kris aiact do you think its conpatible? and about the adjusting thing that means that i have to fix every player secondary position? cause i am playing my dynasty right now hope i have a reply

So sorry, I can't post it by Friday. I'm on a business trip.

Tue Jan 08, 2008 10:19 pm

ahm maek,,

i'm using your fatigue fix but point gaurd starters plays alot maybe 85% of it..

what linup.bin,suboreder.bin and other bin files under the tuning folder did u used?

Thu Jan 10, 2008 12:18 am

I used ILT's tuning files. And as Kris had said, it's from 07.
What team did you use? Maybe he's a superstar guard. Actually, SS status tends to play 80% of the game(40mins out of 48mins i.e. Iverson, Kidd etc.) in realtime.

Thu Jan 10, 2008 12:35 am

ah okai uhm wen i played at indiana tinsley played almost of the minutes.

i already set the roster position of every player in edit player for the starters to have a sub but point guards starter making more mins. almost played the whole quarters..

i'm using the 06 primacy and linup.bin.?

so whats your suggestion for better substitution,?

what tunning file and setting slider should i use?

sorry for disturbing>>>>

Thu Jan 10, 2008 1:02 am

@Tinsley/PG
IND doesn't have that good PG players aside from Tinsley. That's why he plays so much, as I have said it's kinda situational. Trying testing other teams with balance PG. Such as ORL, MEM etc. See that the PG's will somehow split their time.
Also try playing All-Star teams, Decade's All-Star teams and USA. You can see there how good the substitution is. Hehe. . .

@tuning files
I think you should use either ILT's tuning files or 07's. (08's is still a fair use.)
But I'm still doing some research on the .dbf files for the substitution trigger.
This is the only problem that keeps the game 100% substitution working.

Thanks for using my patch. :D

I'll be posting my 1.3 later on. Hope you can test it guys. Thanks to Jimmy for giving me some valuable ideas.

Thu Jan 10, 2008 8:30 pm

wow!!!

can't wait men............!!

so you'll post it this day dude? :D :D

Fri Jan 11, 2008 7:25 am

ok Maek, after testing your fix for many days now, I think the fatigue ratings for all the players need to go down by a little bit, maybe just 2 or 3 points.

Sun Jan 13, 2008 6:29 pm

Thanks for this maek this totally rocks :headbang:

Sun Jan 13, 2008 6:30 pm

Here's the 1.3.
Lowered the ratings values (Thanks to Jimmy and Charley3fly) to a very accurate one.
Added lighting off for my settings.dat.

Enjoy! 8-)

suborder.bin

Try using ILT's. . .I think Kris is using suborder.bin from 07 there. . .

Any new news Maek?

1.4? :?:
Maybe I need to hear some feedbacks and suggestions to make it more efficient. But i already have my own ideas to improve it. I just need other feedbacks to make it happen.

if you have some enlighting insights then maybe you can share it to me.

So far interesting breakthroughs :
1. Starting Five must have their primary positions equal to their respective starting positions. Say G.Wallace is SF by nature, but in their starting line-up he is playing PF, that's why the substitution for CHA is not so realistic because the AI/CPU can't figure out how to rotate the players because I think the AI/CPU gets 2 SF or else in the line-up.

2. With fatigue ratings so low (70-50 only), on the 75% of the 1st Q even the superstars are tired and can't run as they should. :(

3. Substitution only triggers when CPU calls timeout or at FT break  (Darn!)

Feed me also with your findings then I might release my 1.4.
