It's a good version of 07.

08 is more like 07 than 06, so players catch on the run like they did in 07

Yao has a goto move in the Next Gen version of the game, nothing was mentioned for the PS2/PC versions. There is an animation file dedicated for Yao mizzle but the AIACT fails to recognize it. Again, once we get our hands on the PC version, we can fix that (and give other players goto moves as well.....hopefully)

After playing PS2 08, I will not be going back to 06 or 07. 06 had issues that werent fixed until 07 and the same can be said with 07 with 08.

1 That was my bad, I started goofing off and tried to do goto moves (that I didnt know how to do) I was just trying to do dumb stuff and pretty much let Argentina back into it.
2 Fast breaks seem just as good as they were last year. Sometimes the SG or SF will stay outside for a 3, but they seem to cut to the basket more than 07 which is good.


I know how to do every GTM now in the PS2 version, look for a sticky later on how to do them all.

Oh man, this is looking so akward. Bad animations. And can you tell me why players like Steve Nash or Chris Paul have their own fade away ??

Ive never seen Steve Nash fadin away like in the vid, and CP3 also has some other moves that are way closer to being signature .....

This looks so odd, I even cant believe how EA is messing it up once again.

There are others mentioned in the big animation list, and there are also viv files for other players (see post way up there) they are unused, but once we get our hands on the moddable PC version, muahaha.

Well. EA finally forgot about PC and PS2...
I can understand it happens to PS2 - it's kinda old machine that cannot get better from year to year, that's why there's no graphics improvements were put in LIVE.

BUT PC???
It's possible to make LIVE graphically MUCH BETTER than nextgen versions!!!

Hot Zones are for sure, but I haven't heard anything about the "Own the Paint" feature. I hope it is, because I love low post play... That something the live series has lacked in previous games.... other than many dunks.

Ok i didnt play at all yesterday, but I just played a couple of games right now.

I was worried there wasnt any auto subs for the user since I had the slider all the way up, yet my players had no energy left. When I went to the substitution screen an option displayed on the bottom saying "*Square Button* Auto Subs" I pressed it and a dialog came up saying are you sure you wish to enable auto-subs? Your players will automatically be substituted based on foul trouble and fatigue levels (yes or no) After saying yes it mentions the slider in the gameplay options. So yes user auto subs are in.


It's kinda weird to say this, but I really do like this game out of the box. There isnt any new modes and barely any new animations, yet, it feels like a completely new game. I love it. I have only had 1 major glitch and that is one of the baskets completely disappearing on the court, but after I paused the game it came back. The game subs nicely, plays nicely, its just nice and fun, and that is what it should be. After getting used to it, the auto FSS moves and the sig shots and gtms flow a lot better with the game. It kinda reminds me of 06 where you always goto the guy with the FSS moves, but this time you goto the guy with the signature moves.

Also I reported that I was unable to do goto move passing (playmaker passing) unless I tossed an alleyoop. That is untrue, cause when I played today the point guard threw some PM passes.


I guess it is time I said that I am pretty damn happy with this game and what was done with it this year. I am looking forward to getting this bad boy on the PC so I can just add to it, and not fix it.



If I had to nitpick about a couple things, here they are. The AI can be plain idiotic for a couple of seconds. Kobe had a 1 on none fast break and he did a couple of around the back dribble moves that let me catch up and stop him. If you play really stifling defense on the PG you can get him to run out-of-bounds in the back court about 25% of the time. When playing in the FIBA tournament, I got a lot of PG domination, but mostly it wasn't the PG shooting all the time, but it was the PG keeping the ball for 15 seconds then dishing it for a quick shot. That only occurred in the FIBA tournament though, and not in the All-Star game, or exhibition games. Also they took away most of the post-basket celebrations and the celebrations after an AND1 basket.

So yea, that is what i have to say about it right now. Keep them questions rolling if you want to.

My question..is there any socks bug like PC's 07 did last year where players will wear white socks regardless of away or home game..?

...oh yeah.. And Jao... You might have mentioned it, and I know it is fixable based on LIVE 07 (by Pdub, I think), but is the AWAY shoe f-up still in there?

i have never paid attention to socks but ill check that out (but i remember my CAP in 07 had black socks when away and white when home)

the shoe glitch is still there, but like you said, we can fix it.
