someone said it before, but yeah I'm going to puke if I have to see another 640 by 480 resoultion front-end. If honestly the only program i have that still uses it, and cant be changed.

Not to slight EA, but I would love to see some other basketball game on the PC poised to kick the crap out of live. Its the only thing that would speed up the development cycle.

For example Pro Evolution Soccer 08 is kicking EA's FIFA 08 ass this year...PES 08 will have next gen engine and the gameplay is alot better aswell... I hope the same thing will happen to NBA Live soon...

the more i think about it, i don't want there to be a '08 live for PC. seriously EA isn't doing 'anything' for the PC user because of finances and the size of the market. you know what, EA? maybe if you made a good game that PC users would want to buy then, you know, people would BUY it, and the market would go up?

the last good live for PC, i think, was either 98 or 2000. that's a decade ago, and PC users still buy the game whenever it comes out, in whatever shape it comes out.

the front end thing really sucks -- would it kill them to adjust the resolution a bit? even 800x600 would be nice, because then users would be able to see more than 7 or 8 players on their roster at a time. even in madden for the PC we can use the scroll wheel in the mouse to move things up and down . . . and drag things here or there.

so pathetic.

I don't think EA gives two craps whether we buy the game or not, seeing as they have no competition on the PC side and can get a little bit of cash just by putting out a half-baked, half-assed update of NBA Live 2007.

It's about time they had some competition. Maybe Games for Windows can help change that.

Don't worry. Right now this site is dominated by 360 and PS3 people while many of us PC users with superior hardware have to wait on the sidelines. But once the game releases it will be the PC users, as always, keeping this site humming with our patches and questions and comments.

I love this site, and wish Andrew would do a little more to get EA to do something with the PC version and for PC users, such as demos.

Dude... I don't think that it is a war between the Next Gen vs. PC users. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but Andrew does more than enough... EA is a huge conglomerate corporation that are made up of thousands of decision makers. There's little that he or anybody else can do to "make" EA "change" their mind or improve the PC game. I mean, we have patching as an advantage and that IS what makes this a great and solid FORUM... that's what gives the PC users the advantage over the Next Gen users, but don't call out Andrew... We are just a group of patchers and modders... not multi-million dollar businessmen.

Just calm down, man...

Sat Sep 08, 2007 4:26 am

Yeah, once the next gen version makes it to the PC, the least that can be done is rosters. There will be no graphics patching until we get some programming love.

Sat Sep 08, 2007 4:54 am

Pdub, or Andrew, do you know something about the gameplay? Will it be like Xbox360/ps3 gameplay, as i can see in the last videos?
or completely different?

Sat Sep 08, 2007 5:28 am

Well i don t think so k-d because on the pc is going to be a current gen version of the game but i will be some features like fiba champ. Then dynasty mode it will be like nba live 2005 but i think a little bit more better in grapichs.(On the ps2 and pc version)

U cannot add those features like signature go-to moves or quickstrike stuffs by patching the pc version, everything sux damn., dont wanna spend money on consoles, never.

Dude! They don't know anything about the PC stuff, man! Pdub and Andrew don't work for EA!!! And the only versions that anybody knows for sure is the XBOX360/PS3...

The PC version isn't even going to have the FIBA versions... That was clearly stated in the press release... So, the PC users get f#cked!

Sat Sep 08, 2007 7:40 am

Actually, I don't think it was stated in the press release. The 360/PS3 will have the teams, as will the PS2 and Wii...considering the PC version is a port of the PS2...

I hope you are right, but it clearly says at the bottom of the press release on the NBA LIVE NEWS page this:

*FIBA World Championship Mode is available on the PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 versions of NBA LIVE 08

It doesn't say ANYTHING about the PC version. So I assume that it won't be on there...

Sat Sep 08, 2007 7:55 am

Yeah, it doesn't say anything about the Wii either, and it gets FIBA teams.

It also may be because the PC version is coming out Oct 30th instead of Oct 2nd, and the press release was only about titles coming out on the 2nd.

Sat Sep 08, 2007 8:28 am

I hope the pes 2008 thingy will wake up EA and force them to go next gen...well, atleast next year..

Nothing yet but I'm trying to get some answers. Unfortunately only the 360 version was on display at the Community Day so I don't have any hands-on impressions. :(

I'm guessing the PC version probably has the FIBA teams since as Ben said, it will be a port of a version that still includes the FIBA teams.

Sat Sep 08, 2007 10:51 am

I really don't know where to put this, but I hope EA will notice some changes that are being made on some courts. For example, the Rockets are getting a new court that makes the lane only red on the sides and the court is darker everywhere outside the 3 point line. If not, then at least some of the court patchers can make us a new one for the pc version

im sure thats stuff they will pick up long before releasing the game

Sat Sep 08, 2007 1:15 pm

Well, the game is done by now. It kinda has to go gold next week if it hasn't already.

Sat Sep 08, 2007 1:31 pm

It only went lead or double copper wood last year.

Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:57 am

wtf wheres the vids already

Tue Sep 11, 2007 11:02 am

Hopefully there's some on the way. Just about everything there is to know about the Xbox 360/PS3 version has come out so we might start seeing some info on the PC/PS2 version.

You are correct Andrew. Check out my thread. http://nbaliveforums.com/ftopic51249.ph ... ab5770b116

A guy that works for or is a mod on the EA forums today said the info for the PC version would be out soon. So get ready to kiss these features goodbye (FIBA/ESPN Radio ect.) as they are probably just a copy and paste job.

If ESPN Integration is all that the PC misses out on compared to the PS2 version then I can live with that. Obviously I'd prefer that the PC didn't miss out anything but if there's one thing that it can lose without affecting the gameplay or Dynasty experience it's the ESPN content.
