fresh install of nba live 08
complete install of TUP09
install/override with fix1
install/override with fix2
install/override with tweak2
install/override with fix3
install/override with my ALL (kidjustin) roster updates along the way
install/override with my (kidjustin) package 1 (JUST RELEASED TODAY SEE MY THREAD)

...big secret...so i really dont know why people get so many problems.

I find only your rosters 3.0 dope, 3.1 and 4.0... where are the others??? the tweaks is only one?

Gentlemen, I have come to ask for some assistance, and I hope my request will not rankle anyone. I have read through the first few pages of this thread, as well as the last few pages. Admittedly, I skipped the 65 pages in between.... And probably the answer to this is located somewhere in those pages. But I am looking for clear instructions on how to install this mod. I have seen a few other requests like this, which usually direct the poster to another thread. But I haven't seen a link to the threads in question, so I'm not clear on where to go. Also, the prospect of hunting through other threads in the hope of finding links to other files containing fixes seems befuddling to me. So if there's any way one of you could come to my assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

I downloaded everything in the first post, except for the 5 files listed under "old files", and I followed the instructions on a clean install of NBA Live 09 as well as I could. After that, though, the game wouldn't launch anymore. I don't know why. I plan to uninstall it, reinstall, and try again; I don't want to miss out on this. I really don't. It sounds unbelievable.

A few things weren't clear to me during the install. First, when I extracted the main five-part archive into NBA_LIVE_TUP_09 and read the inctructions, the second step listed under Part1 was "Roster place in C:\\My documents\nba live 08\saves" -- but there was no file or folder called 'Roster' there. I haven't played this game in a few years, so my memory of the save states is hazy, but I guessed that he meant the Tup09 2.2 Roster file. So I extracted it and placed it in the folder as directed. Was that right? Or did I miss something and do it wrong?

Second, I was wondering if the files in the three fix packs are all meant to be installed, one after the other -- or do subsequent "fix packs" make the previous versions obsolete? In other words, should I install vol.1, then vol.2, then vol.3? Or should I just install vol.3?

In Part2 of the installation instructions, I was confused by:

"Part2(other files)
place every folder's contents into the file with the same name
in x:\\program files\ea sports\nba live 08 and every
Not all the folder!Only the contents of it."

I just can't parse it out. Instinct and experience tells me that I ought to make it easy on myself and just drag all of these folders and files into my NBA Live 08 folder and choose "Merge" and "Move and Replace" for every single folder and file. But that "Not all the folder!only the contents of it." has me confused.

Why not merge the entire folder? Will it do something weird I don't anticipate or understand?

Finally, in the pages of this thread that I have read, I have seen several of you respond to others (like myself!) who have had problems and confusion about installing this mod by saying that we should just read the thread, or another thread, and find the fix. As I said -- I would find that totally baffling, as I'm not familiar with this board, this mod, or with the lingo and jargon of this game. Could anyone put together a post with the links to any additional files that may be needed to run this mod which are not in the original post?

I have a question. Why the CPU substitutes only the PF and the C? I followed all the instructions!!!

no dude. just keep playing the game and you'll know that the CPU subs tired players (starting with C, and ending with PG, with the exemption of free throws). so if the CPU subs your C and PF and then you call a timeout after the deadball, you will have to wait another 4-5 minutes for the subbing to repeat (starting AGAIN with the C.) that makes it very hard to sub the Guards.... THAT'S WHY 2K RULES!!! (no offense )
