I've read in a german pc-games magazine, who visited the E3, that it is pretty sure that Live '09 will use next-gen graphics on PC.

^
what german magazine is that??
any link please...

Fri Aug 24, 2007 10:44 am

Well ..

You know those kind of magazines with paper and all that stuff? : O
Yeah, they didn't become extinct yet.

Seriously, I read it in a supermarket ...

the website is http://www.pcgames.de/ , but I doubt you'll find any information on that site.

I spoke to the executive producer of the NBA Live series at the Community Day and he said otherwise. The required system specs that were found earlier this week would seem to support that.

hey Andrew, do you know if NBA LIVE 08 will have Season mode? I know in 07 they only had dynasty mode but in the LIVEs before that they included both season and dynasty mode, thanks

Andrew, he's talking about '09, not '08, maybe some magical stuff could happen next year

What platform are you playing on? There is a season mode in 07. :?

Sun Aug 26, 2007 8:28 am

oh my bad Pdub, it's just that i've stopped playin Live 07 for such a long time because it pissed me off wit the PG domination bug and non-stragetic sub patterns that i almost forgot there was a season mode.. anywayz i hope they fixed the PG bug and added a Primacy rating in the edit player mode just like previous Lives had.

Indeed he is, my mistake. Hopefully the speculation for next year is accurate.

I dont mean to cause mass hysteria but I just thought this was interesting.

http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jsp ... =0#2735812
and
http://coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=4717

Basically EA removed all support for users to create new courses for Tiger Woods 08 which has been the main attraction of the PC version of TW and sites like coursedownloads.com

Now, this just worries me a little bit because Live PC has gone through a couple fsh file changes and the switch from .o files to .ebo. The Tiger Woods community just took a big kick in the nuts without a course utility and I just hope the dev team didn't switch up the file types used for Live 08.

Edit, it seems like someone has already found a work around to their issue which is good for them.

*PUSHES OVER DESK* ROARRRRRR! BENJI SMASH!

To be honest, I think it would be putting too much faith in EA to actually work on the game enough to change the file format.

I also wonder if EA would be stupid enough to remove our patching abilities after:
1. NBA Live 07
2. Not delivering the Current Gen game to PC

Well without going any further Madden is quite unmoddable, with all the artwork coming in .dat files which until today remain quite unzippable. Only exception is the portrait files, which after almos 7 months of work and research guys at football-freaks discovered how to extract and import new portraits to the game. Uniforms are still a mistery and mischoices by EA (like the Seahawks and Rams unis in 08'), are driving fans away from the game.

Honestly if EA decides to make Live 08' PC unmoddable, I definetely won't buy it.

If Xbox 360 is "current gen" then what are PC's that include hardware at least a year more advanced? "Newgen?"

Tue Aug 28, 2007 7:23 am

PC is sux generation atm:P

Tue Aug 28, 2007 8:42 am

pc is still superior, just there is not money for nba live on the pc so we get the royal shaft. oh how i wish 2k would make thier game on the pc

Current generation of consoles.

Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:12 am

yeah pc dont actually fall into any gen, however if you need to put it in a gen catagory i guess the best would be, "any gen" as people still use some old ass windows 3.1 computers while other have pcs than can blow any console out the water

Thu Sep 06, 2007 5:24 pm

Andrew, you probably know that so i'm interested is there going to be any difference between pc version and consoles versions of the game besides better graphics on xbox and ps3, i mean will pc version have all those features like , quick strike ball handling, hot spots, signature shots and all others????

I could not belive that Pc version will miss those features, game will be half finished product without those features!

please answer the Q's cuz it seems that everything with pc version stinks a little bit, no info, no anything, wtf are they thinking to do with the game on pc????

Thu Sep 06, 2007 8:45 pm

It will be a direct port of the PS2 version so while there's a possibility it will share Dynasty Mode features with the Xbox 360/PS3 version it's highly unlikely it will have any of the other additions that have been talked about. I wouldn't be unhappy if I were proven wrong but I'm not counting on it.

Thu Sep 06, 2007 11:13 pm

Sept 5th and no information yet, nothing, not a single screen or review...gotta be suspicious.

Fri Sep 07, 2007 4:38 am

Maybe there wont be a PC version this year :D

Fri Sep 07, 2007 4:51 am

Come on, guys. The PC version is just going to be a roster, logo, court, menu, and jersey update of 07--at best. I don't know why you guys keep wishing and hoping that it is going to be anything more. We've all been buying the PC version long enough to know what is in store for us. There is not enough interest in the PC version, which basically amounts to EA's disinterest due to sales and monetary profit... They simply don't make enough money off of the PC version to make any major changes or updates to the PC version... It sucks, but this is just a matter of fact... We are lucky that they even still make it for the PC.

They've already said that there will be no FIBA for PC (which I, personally, was really pissed about)... and I think there is about a 99.9% chance that none of the other super-cool new features will rear their head on the PC version.

The PC is a moot point. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that we can still patch and MOD the upcoming PC version and that it isn't as buggy as last years. Those are the only things that we can hope to come out of the PC version...

PS- It also sucks that we have to wait weeks longer for a crappier version of the damn game...

That is also another strong possibility. They've done that to the PC users before as well...
