NBA live 08 PC

Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Postby maceo24 on Thu Jul 26, 2007 7:59 am

nope... in fact the last NBA liscensed 5 on 5 pc basketball game other then what ea sports offers is Microsoft's Inside Drive 2000. Which was actually wasnt horrible. Had a steep learning curve, and dont even think about not using a gamepad lol... I had to make the nba 5 on 5 separation cause theyre are other basketball games that came out for pc, just not "simulations".

Come to think of it, Microsoft released a football game that was pretty decent that year, too.

If nothing else, it was much better than Microsoft's first effort at an NBA game. Full Court Press had a couple of good points but the absence of certain players they couldn't license and one of the most awkward roster management functions I've ever seen in an NBA game are two negatives that come immediately to mind.

Well, they have done sports games like Torino 06 but nothing in the way of NBA or College hoops etc.

I could really care less about the graphics. But it doesn't take "next-gen" advanced technology (or whatever the heck you want to call it) platform to give us gameplay that is halfway passable. The whole PG shooting bug, the substitution/fatigue problems, the rebounding issues... these were all things that were NOT problems with previous iterations of NBA Live! Why does it seem that with a new release, NBA Live introduces problems that didn't exist in a previous version?

Bottom line... current gen, lower revenue, PS2, blah blah. There's no excuse for delivering a game that's substantially worse than a previous iteration, and there's really no excuse for putting a game on the market that's buggy and requires a patch that takes weeks to months to acquire to even play "right." If that happens again, I'm done with this franchise.

Join the club buddy, were all on the same page here. :)

I'm just hoping that an enjoyable game that can go on my laptop so I can actually enjoy gaming when im out of town (frequently). Im pretty optimistic now about the 360 version. if gamespot comes around and says theyre impressed (theyve always been stingy) then Ill take their word for it. But for PC, which I end up playing more cause I'm too lazy to make an X360 laptop, has to be up to snuff this year. Im tired of having to depend on the talent of not even 3rd party developers to rescue what should be working from the start. Dont get me wrong I love the work that is done here, but if it takes us to finish what should be finished BEFORE they sell it, that to me is a real problem.

Absolutely, what happened with the PC/PS2/Xbox version of NBA Live 07 is certainly not the result of working with outdated hardware (or in the case of the PC version, porting a version designed for outdated hardware).

GameSpot has mislabelled those screens as the PC version has already been confirmed as not being a port of the Xbox 360/PS3 version.

No, they didn't. Aside from the clutch rating which returned in NBA Live 07 Current Gen along with signature free throw rituals, that information pertained to the Next Gen version only.

Not really a surprise since it's not the platform they're focusing on. I'm guessing the graphics aren't going to be much different from last year or the Wii screens that have been posted.

Yeah, I think everyone's aware of that by now.
One or two screens for the PC version would still be nice though, just for the principle... :?

my laptop has a GeForce Go 6150 video card, from what i've read a pretty garbage card, but will this be enough for me to play live 08 without it being choppy? thanks

Can you play Live 07? If so, I'd say it's highly likely.

Well up till now I've been playing on a system but I'm moving and don't have space to take my system. I know the system requirements say GeForce 3 or higher but I have no idea if this is actually higher. Anyways thanks for your reply benji.

wallacex2, your fine with the 6150 assuming 08 doesn't have higher system requirements than 07.

hmm. i kinda thought maybe since they havent released pc exclusive screenshots we'll have next gen quality for the pc this year.

i mean ea included live 08 in its next gen line up even for the pc according to this web page.http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1638&Itemid=49 not sure how reliable this is and i could be very wrong however iono if anybody should be so quick on saying there will be no next gen graphics for pc.

Once again, I was told that the PC version of NBA Live 08 is not going to Next Gen and that information came from the executive producer of the series, so I don't think we should hold our breath in the hope that it was a swerve. Of course, I certainly wouldn't mind if it was.

folks play some NBA live 07 make a superstar fadeaway with kobe and then watch kobe fadeaway at 08
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLtTke05 ... ed&search=
I watched this 5-6 times and realized:THIS IS THE SAME SHIT but better graphics on PC the game dosent have next-gen so will suck harder then that but with NLSC patches and other people patches maybe is going to be playble
Now look the fadeaway from 2k7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nzBV5V9pd8
Conclusion:
NBA LIVE SUCK's at all platforms not just XBOX or PS3 or what ever. It's your choice anyway:)

PG domination may not be fixed, subs may not work, and PC version won't take advantage of PC hardware now over a year more advanced than "next gen," but it has fixes and features like FIBA teams and Garnett on the Celtics.
