Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Nope ... Man, can you help us patch more things here .. maybe you can update the roster?
Sat Mar 31, 2012 3:05 am
They should learn patching, which is easy. I remember well... when I saw a mod about 2000-01 season (a mod that made for live 06, you can remember), I didn't like the jerseys and made some in Paint. They looked nice to me, though!

Okay, I'll attempt modifying the roster, but I will need permission though . . I can really modify any roster with permission of course, as long as you already have the cyber faces of the players. From there I could just edit, trade and the like. I'm not that experienced.

Oh, and when I modify player ratings. I believe I would probably use that rating machine thing in the downloads section. Unless you have a better alternative, I'll most likely copy and paste statistics from this season into the rating machine.

couldn't have said it better myself. as someone who used to do patch, I can actually say it was fun to me. being able to do something and put it into the game and being able to say "I did that." is pretty awesome and rewarding. Being able to share it with everyone here is just a bonus.
a lot of people nowadays in the social media age tend to be a bit narcissistic and are attention whores. they want the praise and the attention to fuel them. your passion for updating the game and keeping the game current should be your fuel

You can't. That's handled at the administration level. It's something we won't rule out but I've outlined our reasons for being hesitant to go in that direction above.

and the last thing, I was 9 years old when I did those.
Now there are 15-27 yr old people who doesn't patch. I was 13 years old when I started to use Photoshop and patching tools.

Forgive me Sir of saying this, we do have the passion for updating the game but would you like to post something or release something on your thread even if it seemed to be like nobody cares about your thread? It's not about praising or something that we want from the users, we need comments which tells us that we need to continue on sharing our works because there's somebody that cares to respond on your previews and releases.

its not about the attention... its about constructive criticism..... if you dont have anynoe telling you if you can improve on something you will only have yourself..... two heads are always better than one.... many times ive made an update been happy with it and then someone gives me so advice and i come out with a much better update..... so input really helps.... i patch alot for myself and my friends.... but if im goin to be releasing work to the public the least they can do is give me some constructive criticisms....

Well...i know im pretty new here and i think its true people like commentz and stuff to keep them patching.i think it also means alot to me that people are actually downloaded my courts what im trying to say is that the ninja mode just needs to stop since there alot of people that do.
Sun Apr 01, 2012 6:32 am
Some people just want the mods. I don't think it encourages people to download if we force them to post. We should encourage them to rate the mods in the download section, though.
Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:03 am
that is a good idea but.... with out comments you dont know if the update is ready or not.... just like games go through a group of people that test it before it is released we like to post previews to see what people think before we release.....

I couldn't agree with this more. Well said bro.

As I said before, constructive and encouraged comments are certainly what we want to see within the patching community. However, I don't think forcing people to comment to get files is the right way to go either. I see that driving more people away than encouraging them to stick around and comment.

agreed andrew.... forcing def never solves anything only causes bitterness....

BTW, It's too boring to patch nowadays. We don't have the roster to play it in our nba live game. I'm just a little bit lackadaisical right now. I don't have the patching spirit.

I'm still working on a roster though . . Have you tried my Dynasty Rosters?
Tue Apr 03, 2012 1:53 pm
I'm a busy guy, and barely have time to patch now. I see that this site has few Euroleague and FIBA mods, so I make those mods (for my and others' enjoyment). When I was creating Euroleague roster, I envisioned playing the mod with NBA jerseys and lots of missing cyberfaces. But luckily, Zeller and bazelos13 joined in, and the result was a pretty decent and updated Euroleague mod with authentic jerseys, logos and cyberfaces. So my motivation is not necessarily others' comments, but more that our forum doesn't have that mod.

Please, can you release it sooner .. hahaha ... nope ... I never tried them. I want the REAL 2011-2012 roster ... Good luck .... looking forward for the release.

I'll try to release it as soon as possible, just having to edit a few ratings and move some players around, it will not include portraits I'll need someone to assign those to their respective players. I'm merely modifying a roster. And before the release I must ask permission.
I figure I'll ask now so, I ask Sir Andrew and Amenace if I can release a modified version of their rosters. I've been working into Amenace's Roster from the Download section especially. Since I wouldn't have to do much from what he already started. I'd say I'm nearly done with it. Until someone get's signed from the pool.
I was looking at a release around the beginning of playoffs. IT is april after all. I will try my best.
Actual release date:Postponed until I get permissions!PS: I probably will edit all the ratings a final time, after the season has ended. I want the most accurate ratings I can get. I'll be using the rating machine from the download section so you can probably guess it takes a while to copy and paste things back and forth for individual players. Or I can just edit them to what I feel is right . . I'll probably give Rose an overall of 91 or something, then I'd give Bryant something like 94. James would have something like 97, but I'd drop his clutch rating

.
An Idea of what I would have if I wasn't using the Rating system is like this, don't get me wrong I don't like lebron but from the way he's been playing. No bias in my rosters. Listed in no particular order. Superstars only, as many I can think of.
K.Durant OVR = 94/95/96
D.Rose OVR = 91/92/93
L.James OVR = 95/96
D.Howard OVR = 93/94
D.Wade OVR = 92/93
J.Smith OVR = 88/89
J.Johnson OVR = 87/88
D.Nowitzki OVR = 92
K.Bryant OVR = 93/94
R.Rondo OVR = 88/89/90
P.Pierce OVR = 87/88/89
K.Garnett OVR = 87/88/89
R.Westbrook OVR = 89/90
S.Nash OVR = 87/88/89/90
C.Anthony OVR = 92/93
A.Stoudimire OVR = 90/91
K.Love OVR = 88/89/90
C.Paul OVR = 89/90/91
B.Griffen OVR = 87/88/89/90
D.Williams OVR = 88/89/90
The Forward slash is just showing that those are possible.
This is a maybe, copy and pasting can be tiresome so I might just edit them outright.

Yes, you mentioned this in your NBA Live 07 release thread too. I'm not sure how posting it - twice, no less - is meant to help with anything.
Wed Apr 04, 2012 1:21 pm
Sir Andrew, may I have your permission to release a modified version of your roster when I am finished with it?
Wed Apr 04, 2012 1:33 pm
