I tried something the other day and It seems to make the game enjoyable. . .I turned everything that had to do with speed of the player like the "player speed, Agility, Acceleration and there was another one can't remember right now" and turn the game speed up, the game is more enjoyable.

I also noticed when you turn the game speed up, the computer sprints on the fast break. I used to play with a slower speed but the computer on my team would just be jogging up the floor.

If you wanna try what I do, just pick some random team that you never use like the reebok team etc. and try it out. I'll post game play vids tomorrow when I get off work

andrew have you been able to get any word on anything being fixed?

Thu Jan 17, 2008 1:21 am

No word on updates for either version of the game, unfortunately.

Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:42 pm

so most likely where not, so off to ebay it goes....

Fri Jan 18, 2008 8:35 am

It does seem unlikely that a fix will be released at this point.

Iam so glad that i traded this game for 2k8.

Cant believe that there still hasnt been a fix after all this time!

EA really are just laughing all the way to the bank!

Does anyone know how to clear the cache? I downloaded the update, and while I can play normal games, it won't allow me to simtervene! It always freezes!

I noticed that bug about players stepping out of bounds and no infractions are called by the refs. I also noticed that the player indicator disappears come the second quarter of the game. Has anyone noticed this problem?

Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:39 am

Yes, if you'll take a look back through the thread you'll see it's among the listed issues.

Sat Aug 16, 2008 8:31 am

A bizarre one that doesn't really affect gameplay. I have noticed that several times, Aaron McKie has randomly shown up on my roster in the middle of a game, though I never signed him.

I deleted this game from my ps3. I didn't like it at all. I'll just wait for the new one to comeout.

Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:23 am

Another thing for X360 is if in Teamplay mode on Xbox Live, the inbounder quits, and you don't quit before the 30 second is up, your game will freeze. I wish they'd fix this. Some people just join to do this to people. It's rather disgusting...

Thu Aug 21, 2008 3:37 pm

Hopefully it's been fixed in 09, there's definitely no fix coming for 08.

Thu Aug 21, 2008 5:15 pm

i stopped playing this game on my ps3

I just hope EA provided us "customers" to turn off the trivia question to load the game quickly. Coz' i guess we bought the game to play and it really annoys me.

With NBA Live 09 out, they're not going to do anything about the issues in NBA Live 08. The Trivia wasn't the cause of the lengthy loading times, all those trivia questions are the result of the game taking a long time to load. In any event, the loading times in NBA Live 09 are pretty good and they've gone back to letting you keep shooting around in the gym while the game is loading.

is there any adjustments now on the movements of players? i viewed the reviews and videos on nba live 09 and it seems the same. the movement is somewhat sliding or ice skiing... i hope tweaking the sliders can change those movements to a more realistic game.

I wouldn't say there's much skating in NBA Live 09 at all, nor NBA Live 08 for that matter (especially compared to last gen). Adjusting the game speed sometimes seems to help with animation issues though.

that's awesome andrew  and how about online connection? are those plug-pullers can be penalized now by ea? i mean let's say banned for online gaming in a week for 2-3 times plug-pulling/quitting?

Re: NBA Live 08 Xbox 360/PS3 Issues (Bug List & Information)

Sun Dec 07, 2008 9:12 am

No, unfortunately not. I had someone quit on me in the fourth quarter of an online game because I happened to be having a pretty good game and was up double digits and I didn't get the win, nor did they get the loss. When you're matching up with other people you do see a DNF (Did Not Finish) percentage though, so if you see someone with a high DNF percentage you should be wary as it probably means they pull the plug or even just manually quit the game.

@andrew
ic... but dnf rating could mean other thing... perhaps it is just because of bad server connections. sometimes it is ironic that the match ended eventhough an opponent was up by double digits. thats why it's too hard to tell a "real" quitters and plug pullers by merely looking at the dnf percentage. or i am missing something about dnf? is it that accurate?

Re: NBA Live 08 Xbox 360/PS3 Issues (Bug List & Information)

True, but I would suggest that when the other user disconnects when they're down by double digits in the fourth quarter, more often than not they've quit out of bad sportsmanship, which is why a Did Not Finish rating of 100% raises a red flag even if some of those games they did not finish were for legitimate reasons, such as a genuine connection/server error.

i agree. but it's a good thing that if the user quits during the first 3 minutes of the first quarter, they will not receive any loss nor win on that game. i usually do this if i find out that the game is lagging due to bad connection because it is really hard to make a play if it is freezing.

Yes, that's a fair enough feature and can also be used to avoid cheesy players or people who aren't interested in playing properly. When it comes to fourth quarter disconnections though they tend to be more suspicious.
