Did you see that net shadow on the jersey. Is it possible to make sth like that ? Anyways, it may be way too difficult, but here's an idea:
As you can see in the picture; light comes directly from opposite way of the player, so we can see a net shadow on the jersey.

Look at the position of Amare's elbow, and look at its shadow on his jersey. You can clearly see that the Lightning makes shadows from an opposite direction.
This may be important to reveal that when the light comes from a direction, another side will be dark and will have shadows.
On the other hand, we know that in the game, we cannot see those shadows clearly, because we can see only 1 side or 2 sides of players. I mean; when playing with baseline camera, we see players' back and lightning should be there. If we play with lower bowl or broadcast camera, we generally see players' sides.
Ok here's the point, can somebody please make lightning patch with less lights and colours but good shadows just like you see in links above ?
I also think that sweating is not that important and realistic.
