No, only if you're holding the defensive assist button. It can be annoying but then I was holding it like the traditional "defensive stance" button in previous games which it's not really designed for. At any rate, if you're not holding that button you won't automatically switch on defense.

they didn't get rid of the defensive stance button did they?!? I love that button, that's how I play defence....I think defensive stance button is a necessity in any bball game, so I don't think EA was silly enough to remove it....

I'm pretty sure it's now been mapped to the right analog, the same as the PC/PS2 version. The defensive assist has been mapped to a shoulder button though and since that's what the defensive stance has been mapped to in years gone by (and the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 07 for that matter) I fell into an old habit and used the defensive assist button in the same way.

Yup, thanks for the report andrew. I'm not buying either game on october 2nd i'll tell you that (I'm looking for ps3 version btw), I think I'll wait for live 08 feedback, and thoroughly play the demo, and see if it's close to 2k8. In which case, I may have no choice but to buy live 08 to support EA if they make their game that much better.

There is no demo for PC yet. Only for PS3/360.

So does anyone know if the Dynasty Mode feature will let you choose less then 81 games?

no we are still constricted to 82 games I believe....

you know for the PC version it is actually possible to edit the dbf so there arent 82 games and only 29. Its just that no one has done it.
Opinions are my own.

I have, unsuccessfully. The event scheduling messes everything up, but that was trying to port over a 29 game schedule from 06's dynasty mode. If someone deleted several hundred games from the 07 schedule, equally for each team, then it might work, but then, you would have to do that every season of your dynasty, or find out how to mass edit the year in the dbf schedule, and use the same schedule every year.

07 doesnt change the schedule from year to year i thought. so wouldnt you just have to edit the origdbf once?

NBA Live 08's Dynasty Mode is locked to 82 games the same as last year.

What is the mystery behind PC version of the game? no NEWS,SCREENSHOT,DEMO, ADDS FOR PCVersion and EVEN the release date was far behind the console. PC users waiting and excited for this game for a long time What do you think the reason behind PC version? :? :? :?

Well, the PC version is a port to the PS2 version, so mayber EA expects us to know that and look at the PS2 screenshots, videos, news, etc...

There's no official word on it but the general thought is that the PC version has become an afterthought since the sales figures and the greater amount of competition on the consoles make it a lower priority. Since it's a port of the PS2 version, we already have an idea of what the PC will be like (minus its patchability and any PC specific issues that may exist).
