Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Can't you read mate?
The substitution issue was already resolved months ago and 98% working realistically.
2 more % then it's perfect.
But if you want to give then it's up to you. . . Twisted Evil
What the &uck are you talking about Meak..the substitution was not solved! I am using the patch and my sub is the same as before. C and PF get sub with in 3 min. and pg don't get sub out at all. The only time PG gets sub is if they have 2 or more fouls. The fatigue doesn't do shit, pg can be tired as hell and they still keep him in the game. And this sub is the same for whatever team I am playing against. If I am missing something, do let me know!

I agree. Guards are very very rarely substituted, and it seems to me that they are now much more tired. I installed Alby's RR v3. The supstitutions patch should be integrated within. All other things in RR are running smoothly, but while supstitutions are okayish in simulation mode, it seems they don't work in playing mode at all.
I played 8min q, superstar level, with gamespeed set to 53, fatigue normal. Haven't touched any other mentioned sliders, and there were no subs in almost whole half. Not one. Then I tried to move the CPU sub freq slider to 80, and PF and C were almost instantly substituted. It didn't apply to PG, SG nor SF.
Bibby and Artest played less minutes due to serious foul trouble, Artest only got out when he was called for 4th personal in 2q, while Bibby got his fifth in late 3q, without previously going to the bench. Martin played for whole 32 mins.
I played with Hornets, and Paul and Peja were dying after only 3 minutes of play, while all my starters were very tired within 5 minutes.
Suggestion: I don't know whether this could be made, but fatigue should be progressive throughout the game. Starters should be able to play most of the 1st q, but probably not most of the 4th q. Also, the players get to be 100% too quickly while on the bench.
And a question: Should I switch the autosubs on? As User subs freq is 0, it won't affect my team. Or am I wrong?

TD21 im having almost the same problem as you...and i have also Maek's fatigue fix
About your question, i'm not sure if i understand it well but, if you have user subs frequency at 0 and you put auto subs on, CPU wont do the subs for you so it is the same to have auto subs off.
Sorry if i got i wrong.

Hey Maek!
I´ve tried your fix and I say sub system for cpu seems much better.
I´m using andrew´s roster, and I can´t tell if there is any problem with it, as seen in some posts.
Would u consider include the tuning files along with your fix as an optional bonus?
Matter of fact, I couldn´t find the tuning files anywhere else.
Thank you very much for doing this!
Peace!

You can find the tuning files in :program files\ea sports\nba live 08\tuning\
Thanks for trying my fix. I guess most of the roster patches (Alby's & WebberF1) are using my fix. And some of the users are giving their negative feedback.
I think I've done most of the experimenting in the tuning files (suborder.bin & lineup.bin) but to no avail, nothing happens. . .
Just a waste of time.. .
I think the substitution trigger is within the
nbalive08.exe. And the only way to edit it is by an official fix from EASports themselves.
Anyway, we can live with my existing fix 1.3. . .
Actually sometimes, it works just perfect so I think this'll my last patch for substitution. . .
I have a project right now, 30% complete. . .I'm a very enthusiastic Fantasy NBA GM for a long time and I think I'm getting addict to it. So I will try to incorporate it with NBA Live 08 roster. . .
It will be then known as
FANTASY NBA ROSTER 08.
Watch out for it in March. It will be updated every month until offseason.
Thanks!

No, you got it right, but does auto subs on reflects on CPU substitutions? From what I saw while playing, it doesn't. But I'm just trying to make Maek's patch work for me too. Obviously, it works for many guys, I'm not really sure where the problem might be for us, manolo.

have you applied the tuning files that ive released? and also have you loaded the rosters that you have applied on maeks fix? if so then it will work but if not then it will not work

Don't know what's the problem with your game. Ours totally works fine but not yet perfect. If you installed and followed my instructions, it should work fine. Read the instruction carefully, I can't blame you if you can't play the game correctly. But ours is fine.
Thanks for trying though!

Hey Maek.
What´s the effect of TEams.dbf on the fix???
Just out of curiosity, once your fix is must for all rosters

I think teams.dbf is for the offensive and defensive plays for each team.
My fix doesn't affect it. It just affect the fatigue/stamina for better substitution.
Thanks for using my fix!
Fri Feb 15, 2008 1:23 am
maek, do i need to use your settings or sliders for your fix to work?
how often should i run the .bat file? just once?
Fri Feb 15, 2008 1:26 am
You should run the ".bat" file once, if you install a new roster into your saves folder.
Fri Feb 15, 2008 4:27 am
@m.qarz & Beatboxer
You don't have to use it, the fix will work without it.
And you should use the .bat file if you play a dynasty that has new generated rookies after the first season. And every next succeeding year after it. Because they're fatigue will not match the correct one.
Thanks for using it guys! It's flattering. . .enjoy!

Using team.dbf from live 07 really improved the substitution for me. The teams are playing better defense and now subbing much better.
Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:52 pm
can you post your .dbf o7 next nba ?

Subbing better without my fix?
Just can't believe it!
As far as I know, team.dbf doesn't control the substitution. Only nbalive.exe, settings.dat and the player.dbf. . .even the tuning files doesn't matter either. . .tried hexing them but to no avail. . .NIL!
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up!
Kris, please do try it. . .as I'm using your team.dbf! Thanks mate!

Does this work in simluation mode?
Edit: I can't get substitutions to work, even if the guys have 3 fouls in the 1st Q.
I don't see an option for CPU Substitution: I see CPU Assist, thats On, but anything I'm missing?

In simulating for Dynasty, the players rotation depends on the simengine.bin(Try yesky's patch, it's great).
For the substitution to work, just follow my guide and be sure you turn on the autosub or go to gameplay sliders and adjust the CPU substitution frequency to 50 or higher.
About that 3 fouls, regret to inform you that it's unfixable right now.
Thanks for trying though!
