Signature dunks?

I think they are possible, but it they will be very complicated. There's a high chance that it may results in a severe crash and will requires a lot more "investigation". WebberF1 once tried to gave Josh Smith a dunk as a GTM and his game crashes severely.

A dunk as a GTM

Wouldn't it be a matter of editing the dunks within a dunk package and assigning these modified dunk packages to specific players?
It wouldn't necessarily have to be a go to move. Just dunk package specific

Am I making any sense?

looks good, import it to kris/nigu's aiact.

I kinda understand what you mean, like each player has their own sets of dunks than other players

As far as I know the only way to put signature dunks is giving a specific dunkpack to a player as arden_05 said, the problem is that you can't make new dunkpacks, so, the more players you want to have with signature dunks, the less dunkpacks you will have to assign to other players. You can see what dunks or layups has each dunkpack (by default) here:
http://nbalive08.nba-live.com/index.php?go=dunkpack
And if you want a player with his own signature dunks what you have to do is put in one of that dunkpacks the dunks and layups you want for that player, and assign that number only to that player.
If you want to use a dunk as a GTM it won't be a dunk, because shotconditions.act and shottype.act only control shots (or layups, I mean that the player will release the ball), if you use a dunk animation as a GTM it will look as a layup.

A question for all of you (and i know this isnt the place but it the request area , nobody really replies you anymore) can any of you guys , ignatus , modilfy,
Gazun, Kris anybody , can you make the net animation , when you make a shot , it would be better if the shot anim would be replaced with the dunk anim of the net , becouse its stupid , you make a 25 foot jumper , and the net barely moves ,, and even this would be great , to have the ball not change the diretion of the shot , cuz when you score the ball goes staright downwards, i know what youre thinking this guy has a lot of imagination his crazy , but if i knew anything about patching i wouldnt be asking thes kind of questions Smile ..hehe i really im not fimiliar with patching so sorry about this stupid questions , just wanna know can anybody be up to the challenge ...... if you want an example just watch the scoring in NBA 2k8,
Thats what we need in NBA Live !!!!
Plz reply , i posted it erlier but everybody started talking about sig dunks !!

It's pretty obvious isn't it? You execute these moves by moving the analog stick / keyboard into the direction of the shot while shooting. For leaner you move the analog stick up / press up for keyboard. For fadeway you pull the analog stick down / press down for keyboard. For left or right jumper you push the analog stick to the left or right and you press left or right on keyboard. Pretty straight forward huh?

It's very easy to execute on both the gamepad and keyboard. You just press the direction you want while you're shooting. It's just like doing normal fadeaways, leaner, left or right jumper.
Okay Okay bro.. I was just asking.. Becoz I have them both.. But to be hontest.. It isn't that easy.. Read WebberF1's insturciton how to execute his new GTMs and then tell me that it is simple

The ball must be in right hand.. The ball must be in left hand.. Must be in specifc angle.. Blablabla... So many things.. And to be honest i have the feeling that with keyboard is easer...

Don't know.. Will wait for the relase and then I will post my opinion over thins..
Anyway sorry for the offtopic ignatus.. You aree great.. Keep it up
EDIT:
besi Dude... I don't know... Really.. Before, when i ask JaoSming.. He told me that thing thing isn't posible.. But now When We found way to edit the net shape.. Maybe there is some way for ediiting the animation too.. But i don't know
Fri Aug 22, 2008 12:53 pm
I still believe that it is almost impossible to edit the animation of the net since EA only made two or three animations for the net. But who knows, with the right set of tools it could be possible.
And yeah, I found WebberF1's tutorial simple. His tutorials were too complicated than it should be. It doesn't really matter what angle you are, it's the position you have to be in. Having the ball in your right hand or left hand plays an effect though. Anyway I can play with his modifications without any trouble.
What ignatus is working on is not a GTMs though. It's a normal shot which will replace the generic jumper/fadeaway/leaner/left or right jumper. So you execute them like normal shots.

Trust me, you'll find it very easy with the analog stick. Just push it into the direction you want at the same time you press the shoot button. Done.

@Besi
For net animationsi think it is not possible to edit bro since there is still no such tools in editing that file..(i once tried to use the net animations in the ps2 and xbox game but it really wont work)

with the default aiact, somehow, at least Lebron and Shaq both have signature dunks, I was never able to figure out how since both dunk animation names don't show up in the dunk.act
Lebron's is that side tomahawk that I hate, and shaq's is his well, two handed under the hoop shaq dunk.
Sat Aug 23, 2008 4:15 am
Probably in the scenario.bin file.

ohh man i just played nba 2k8 for ps2 and there was a phenomenal set of animations , the whole package running with the ball , shooting , passing everything just so more realistic then the live series .... i really wish that somehow we would be able to copy the anims from 2k8 an replace the anims in nba live ... it would be alot better ,, but i assume thats impossible since you guys havent done it yet ... so
Bthw i allways wanted to ask this question .... are the anim files for nba live the o. files that are found in the anim/body folder or what ???
Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:04 am
animation files are ord and orl files
the scripted cutscenes are .o's
Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:44 am
any way to convert

LAL4LIFE wrote:any way to convert

i think it is possible that is if the files of 2k series are the same as the files in live ...
@Jaosming
i think this is oneal's dunk animation

Mon Aug 25, 2008 12:34 pm
does that show up in the default 08 dunk.act though?
Mon Aug 25, 2008 1:33 pm
@Jao
yup
Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:25 pm
I think it might be possible to add more dunkpacks to the game. From the original dunk.act-
- Code:
DUNK
dunktable
168
23
21;27;26;23;36;30;24;38;39;53;52;52;48;31;42;31;52;16;15;33;22;6;29
168 is how many animations are in the file. 23 is the amount of dunkpacks, with 5 of them being specially used for highflyers, power, and inside scorers. the "21;27;26, etc" numbers are how many dunks are in each dunkpack, so there are 23 sets.
So, in theory, we could add a dunkpack, change the 23 to a 24, and try to figure out where to add the new dunkpack. It should either be before the FSS dunkpacks or after them. Also, each line would have to be changed to add the new dunkpack to this part -
- Code:
-------------------x--x
Then, just add the dunks for a particular player and change the dbf to give them the signature dunkpack. It probably can't be that easy. The part that shows what dunkpack a dunk is used in may be hardcoded and unchangeable.

Is there any posibility to make pass animation faster?
Mon Aug 25, 2008 10:04 pm
good to hear that 2k animations were possible to be converted to Live, i have cousin who can do this, he is a game and simulation programming student from new jersey.
EDIT: Im just waiting for his vacation here in Philippines, then we can do some great conversions/tweaks.
Mon Aug 25, 2008 10:15 pm
possible to convert animations from 2k to live? I haven't seen 2k's animations, but I doubt it could be done, the player models has different parts (I am talking about the 3d models) or at least different identifications names, so I don't think they can be compatible. Anyway I haven't seen 2k's animation files but if anyone could upload them so I can take a look...

ignatus, Sorry to bugger you, but any updates regarding your new updates?
By the way, today is my last summer holidays, it would be extra sweet if I could talk to you again before my first school day.
