WE WANT NBA 2K FOR PC!!!

Don't bother, not gonna happen.

I haven't experienced a crash yet, I haven't tried any of the solutions that have been posted so far. I'll keep trying different settings to see if I can stumble upon it (though I never experienced any of the crashes last year, either).

I was playing with the celtics against cleveland. At the end of the quarter, my players went towards the Cleveland's bench instead of going to their respective bench...

And then.... crash to the desktop...

Have you ever seen that? It seems to be a major animation bug

Man, couple of weeks ago I sent an e-mail to the customer service and requested them to bring the NBA 2k9 or at least port NBA 2k8 to PC.

Here's my e-mail:
"
Subject : From a Basketball Fan - NBA2K

Hi,
I'm a real world basketball fan and basketball video gaming fan since 2000.
I'm from Turkey. Realize that I've mentioned i'm from Turkey.
I've mentioned, because many people around the world like me want only one thing from you:

Please make the NBA2K game for PC platform.

Is that really too difficult ?

Please, at least make a pc port of the game. We PC users want to play this -only in the world- great basketball game, not for its graphics, just for its great REALISTIC SIMULATION GAMEPLAY.

Please answer me if this can be or never be !

Have a great day !

........Sorry for my bad English........ :( "

But look how the lady from the customer service answered my request:
"
Subject : RE:From a Basketball Fan - NBA2K

Hello,

There are no plans to release NBA 2K8 on the PC.

Thanks for contacting 2K Sports

Did you see that ? They have no plans to release NBA 2k on PC !

But why? A big company can show its bigness with only competeing against its rivals (i mean rivalry between NBA 2k and EA sports on next-gen consoles) ! And i'm sure if 2k Sports release NBA 2K on PC, their income will largely increase !

Do you agree ?

For this I will have to correct this. I work in Custome Service and sometimes I have to deal with correspondence as well. You see, its likely you will get this reply because this customer service just want to get her work quota meet. It is not like she is going to run to the Business development and ask if they have plans to release NBA 2k on PC. Its just too much hassle. The customer service just couldnt be bothered. So, all hope is not lost.

There is a possibility that NBA 2K will be release in the PC market. I know PC market is not that much of a big pie, compare with Xbox and PS, but its still a few million dollars pie. EA f*ck up this pie for so long I bet 2k is aware on the gripes we have for EA. Now see the thing is, the reason why is was not release is perhaps the pie, the PC pie for NBA 5 on 5 is just not attractive enough to get their attention. And perhaps they have no idea how desperate we are here. I think, its important for us to really unite together and really bring this matter up to them.

The effective way to get 2k attention, I felt... from a corporate stand point; is to take this matter to the big boss. Yes, take it to the CEO, I need to ask some questions here, to my fellow NBA live-rs, anyone know where the 2k sport headquarters are and who their CEO is? I think we ought to start a petition. I remember last year we had a petition to bring 2k to PC and a lot of us sign on it. Somehow it did not work as we see NBA 2k 2008 was not bought to the PC platform. The idea of us starting a petition is good. Just look at us last year when we petition EA to come out with a patch for NBA live 2007. I think couple of medias even mention that us on the petition. I think somehow under the pressure on the media and our petition, EA only then was compel to come out with the patch. That shows one thing, if you don't bring the dirty laundry under the light, EA just won't a f*ck on how crap is their product is.

This is what I think, do it again for an online petition, but this time be more specific. Posting just your email on a forum, I do not think 2k will take us seriously.

This is what I suggest the petition should look like:

Petition to bring NBA 2k to PC
Name: Sean Martin
Country: Malaysia
Age: 29
PC software and hardware: Windows XP, dualcore 2, ATI radeon x1300 video card, 2 gig ram.
email: mrtistrm@yahoo.com

Plan: Anyone can start up a dedicate site, where people can add their petition rather than post in a forum? In that manner the statistic collected are more accurate and is a more convincing number. If we can have a dedicated site, it sure does give a creditabilty to the site and show 2k sport we really mean business. Then, anyone who knows the physical address of 2k sport can just print out the petition and post it to them. Or email their CEO email... anything to get their attention.

I also suggest that the petition is to be bought to the attention on the media. This will definitely get EA and 2k attention. This will not only shame EA for robbing our hard-earn cash for years, and also, hopefully... will prompt 2k sport to really make a game for PC.

This is what I suggest the petition entry should look like:

Petition to bring NBA 2k to PC
Name: Sean Martin
gender: male
Country: Malaysia
Age: 29
PC software and hardware: Windows XP, dualcore 2 processor, ATI radeon x1300 mobility video card, 2 gig ram.
email: mrtistrm@yahoo.com

With a full detail like this, this petition will look legitimate.

Now, one thing is that I know, by proposing all of these its better that I do it myself. Unfortunately, I must apologize because I really don't have the time, or know-how and know-what to do this. All I can offer is just an idea. Im a passionate NBA live gamer just like everyone, but EA really just dissapoints me for too many times. I have support EA for all these years and still playing 2005 because 06 and 07 is just too much of a joke.

In the meantime, anyhow got the latest roster patch for NBA live 2005?

Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:04 pm

Well said.

It all depends on how BAD we want it. And if we struggle for it, we will surely get somewhere. Think of ALL the 'wish lists' and what not, that most of the ppl here came up with, just so we could get a decent Live game. The result? EA didnt give a crap about us.

I think if its taken seriously... its well worth a shot.

Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:10 pm

what's the point of posting this 3x? I think 1 time should be enough :D

But i'm all for it

if you want 2k8 so bad, then why not buy a PS2 cheap off the internet and buy that game? Instead of doing petitions and hoping the ymake a game for you. you could have the game towmorrow if you wanted to.

I just played a full game. the only way is to shut off the cut scenes and to pause multiple times after quarters and time outs, otherwise it crashes.

Thu Oct 25, 2007 11:17 pm

the time out and end of quarter bug is involving the animation where players are going back to the bench, shuoldnt be hard to fix with an official patch, anyway thanks god this is not affect in any way the ONLINE game because that animation was cut off the online game

anyway i noticed that during the opposite second free throws the player you own WILL NOT run to the basket to get the rebound, he totally freeze while the cpu steals the rebound for others 2 points, thats happens if you press turbo boost buttor or not, indiscriminately

another thing i noticed is that you cant play online match with edited rosters, it gonna reset the rosters all the time, thats why you have to copy the rosters you wanna use on online games into ORIGINAL DB folder so you can get edited rosters for your online matches

thats happens also with slides (the interception one is terrible)
any idea how can i set different slides for online matches because if i gonna change them into the game, it gonna reset them all the time i play online

Sure...Ive been optimistic since Live 05. I think ill pass and try something different. And who knows, IF it works, you'll be the one thanking us and NOT playing Live. If you cant be positive about it, atleast let others do it. No need for 'petition bashers' too. :P
