FSHLINE bug or what?

Thu Jul 12, 2012 10:10 am

Ok i've decided that i need to make a log to see if anyone can help me with the FSHLINE Tool.
Cyberface help
Log of first .fsh
FSHx data <65616 bytes>.
Unpacking to directory C:\users\user\desktop\dagrang
SHPF 1 objects,tag GFSH
No global palette .
'texture0:head' [61]->'0000.bmp'<256x256> <alpha:0000-a.bmp>DXT3 Packed
conversion performed successfully.
press enter to exit

Log of 2nd .fsh
FSHx data <65616 bytes>
Unpacking to directory C:\users\users\desktop\atdavis
SHPF 1 objects,tag GFSH
No global palette.
'texture0:head' [61]->'0000.bmp<256x256> <alpha:0000-a.bmp>DXT3 Packed
conversion performed successfully
press enter to exit

copy bhed bitmap from 2nd folder to first folder
i did so
Copy the index, bitmap and alpha file from the first folder to the same folder as fshline.exe
Now this gets me and gives me trouble in the first folder when i used the 1st .fsh
the files were
0000 bitmap
0000-a bitmap
index.fsh
So i copied the 3 files in the folder and this is the Log from that
No alpha data file
Expecting 1 object,allocating 262464 byres of memory
Adding 0000.bmp
Successfully obtained 65616 bytes of FSH data
writing to C:\users\users\desktop\dagrang.fsh
conversion performed successfully
press enter to exit
i renamed dagrang.fsh to atdavis.fsh
Same results as before whats wrong guys this part is pretty simple so am i not doing right?

You should be using fshx to be importing/exporting reducing the bheds.

Post the actual contents of each index file. I might be able to help you.

Sounds like the bhed you're exporting the alpha from is double resolution (2x), while the custom bhed you've made is normal resolution (1x). As Dc311 said, you're going to have to reduce the resolution of the bhed you're extracting the alpha from; simply open the .fsh file in FshX, use the Half Resolution option under the Texture menu, then save the file. Then you should be able to proceed as normal.

their both saying 256x256
are the size for both files using FSHx
Weird im almost ready to start from scratch but i've come to far to wanna do that geeshhh

Here's what it sounds like you are doing with the information from your first post-

Export bmp's from danny granger fsh
Export bmp's from anthony davis fsh
Copied bhed from anthony davis to danny granger folder

All other steps are unnecessary.

IIRC, you just drag the index.fsh file from the danny granger folder onto fshline.exe and it should import fine, you don't need to copy files into the fshline directory.

index.fsh needs to be in the same folder as the bitmaps, so copying them all into the same folder as fshline.exe before you drag and drop is necessary.

I did that and been doing that but this worries me
No alpha data file
expecting 1 object
adding 0000.bmp
successfully obtained 65616 bytes of FSH data
writing to C:\users\users\desktop\dagrang.fsh
conversion performed successfully
press enter to exit

It really is puzzling. I don't do much work with faces but there have been times where I've had to add an alpha to a face and that method hasn't failed me yet, except when there's been a mismatch in the texture size. The Danny Granger face definitely has an alpha itself, right?

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

its to bitmap files and a index.fsh
one bitmap has color the other one is black/white
it does this for both folders when i drag and drop the players .fsh
idk im puzzled myself
im using Fsxline 1.0 is that the latest ?

The last time I used fshline, I had version 2.2, 1.22, and used to use 1.1d because it had the same functionality as nfshtool with the -nfs option.

Try this one

ok thanks
i tried that and things changed a bit i have this now
index.fsh
texture0!head
texture0!head (face but seems transparent )assuming this is the alpha
no .bmp tho
but i made those moves using the dds and i got this
Image

Yeah, the transparent texture head is the cyberface with the combined alpha, which is the way nba live 08's dds files are. fshline exports both dds and png. To import png files, just delete the exported dds file. if you prefer the old method, try the -nfs option and see what happens.

Andrew, fshline 1.1d is the one I posted and supports the drag and drop of both the fsh for exporting, and the index for importing. No need for moving files around. It's been uploaded on my hosting for a while, I'll add it to the download database.

EDIT - the image didn't load before, it looks like it is working for you.

i'll try that
It doesn't look like anthony davis its more like granger lol its pretty weird this tool isnt working for me
is there another tool or way to put the players head in game?

Ah, excellent. I always managed to get that working with 1.0a but if there's a more up to date version that is more stable, so much the better. (Y)

You have a Danny Granger fsh file. Make a copy of it. Rename both to andavis.fsh and copy of andavis.fsh. Open copy of andavis.fsh with fshx and then import davis' bhed that you've already made in photoshop and saved it as a bitmap. Make sure that the bitmap you've made is the same size as the one previously stored in danny granger's fsh file (256x256 or 512x512). If those two sizes aren't matched then use the Half resolution or Double resolution in fshx. SAVE it in fshx. Then copy these two files and paste them in your fshline folder. Then drag the Copy of andavis.fsh and andavis.fsh to fshline.exe. The order isn't important. You'll see that the conversion is completed successfully for both of those files. It will create you two new folders called Copy of andavis and andavis. Open the Copy of andavis and copy ONLY the bheds (that means not the index file or the files where you have 0000-0a or 0000-1a) that you see, it's normally one bhed for 256 and 1 or 2 for 512 size. Paste the bhed file(s) to your andavis folder in fshline folder. Click yes to replace the Danny Granger's bheds that were stored in andavis.fsh. Now, copy EVERYTHING that you have inside andavis folder to the fshline folder (the bheds, index file, alpha files- those are the ones that are black and white and are called 0000-0a or 0000-1a). Drag the index file from fshline folder to fshline.exe and it will say Conversion performed successfully. Now copy the andavis.fsh to your sgsm folder and play the game.

And the playerpkg for your cf?

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:54 pm

that's ATDAVIS

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

Thu Jul 12, 2012 10:13 pm

Does the face still look shiny? If not, the alpha layer is no longer the issue. Anything odd-looking about the face would be the result of an ill-fitting headshape file.

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:31 pm

He is definitely getting the danny granger cyberface in the game for some reason.
I think mcdonuts has it right. Do not copy the index file since it contains a link to the original fsh and not the one you are moving it to. If you move it, fshline will still import into the original fsh. I bet that was the problem you were having. So only copy the head texture.

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:42 pm

Of course. The only thing that needs to be copied from one folder to another is the bhed.

Devilish wrote:Ok i tried that except it was no 0000-a

What do you mean there was no 0000-a? It wasn't included in the first or the second folder? That is the alpha file, that's what it's all about. It has to be included in the first folder, called andavis

Re: FSHLINE bug or what?

What I've always done is...

1. Extract the face that needs the alpha
2. Extract the face that has an alpha
3. Copy the 0000.bmp of the face that needs an alpha to the folder of the face with an alpha, overwriting the 0000.bmp file inside
4. Recompile the second face (the one with the alpha, whose 0000.bmp you've just overwritten) by dragging and dropping the index.fsh file on fshline.exe
5. Rename the resulting .fsh file to match the new PLAYERPKG as necessary.
