Problem: Few Patchers Left.

Reason:
Mostly people are in ninja mode. I think the reason why people are too lazy to patch because there are only few people giving comments on the patchers thread. People eager to download and don't even bother of saying thank you to the patcher. Giving comments to the patcher's thread and his releases would encourage the patcher to patch. It's like give and take. You give comments(not spamming, *some annoying requests* and destructive criticisms), we give you patches.

Conclusion:
Patchers live by comments. And we will continue to patch because you guys encourage us to do so.

I don't think it's a case of people being too lazy to patch, rather they get disheartened at the lack of a response or in some cases they've just moved on to other games because these games are getting old now. Or they have other responsibilities that must take priority, which is absolutely understandable.

Having said that, I'm certainly all for giving thanks and constructive feedback to patchers, so I definitely agree with the overall sentiment and suggestion.

Honestly, if I had anything I could 'test' I would provide Feed Back, constructive responses and the such. You all take the time out to patch, I appreciate that very much. My respects to you all.

PS: I am trying to see why my computer isn't using the ENB series I uploaded correctly, instead of a lot of color saturation, I am seeing something different, similar to the 0075 gta ENB series. I should have it resolved soon though, it only happened when I restarted my computer . .

Thanks for agreeing bro, and yeah I agree with you considering the fact that there is 2k12.....but even this game is obsolete, this section is not that cold last season. The only thing that bothers me is that, you've got like 30 downloads in this month but only like 3-5 people responded..Wow. According to one of the patchers in 5d6d.com, "patching is not easy and it takes time"..Isn't it good if you can see responses on your thread?..Yeah, like you said bro

One of the things i like about 56nba is that you need to be a registered member to leave comments and to get the download link for the mod/patch.That is if the maker of that patch/mod chooses to use that option.That would be great here.
And another thing that i wish that this forum would do is to make it a rule for all makers of the mods/patches upload their works to the download section.I mentioned this before on another thread and Andrew did say that it would be hard to reinforce.But if a moderator can delete a thread and remove a link then i don't see why not.
Other than that you are right.There is one other thing that i do have to mention.There are several people who are too picky about things in someone else's work.People need to realize that you either take it or leave it.I will admit that i am hard on people sometimes,but it is for a good reason.Criticism is good here if it is to help out but if you want it a certain way all the time that will make a patcher/modder rethink about doing anything at all.

Me, it's just I can't be bothered at all. Comments or not, I just don't have time anymore to patch. And the fact that it has become more 'time consuming' then a hobby or what not. I've made so many jerseys, I don't really want to make any more.

Well, it's extra work we'd have to do manually for a start. My main concern with doing that however is that it would be very restrictive and is likely going to create an environment where people don't want to contribute at all. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want people to use our upload facilities and really appreciate how strongly you feel about it; I wish more people shared those sentiments! But we don't want to be ogres about it either, because that won't work out very well.

What we are looking to do is put a few more security measures in place and disable the need for us to approve uploaded files in most of the sections, just moderating the files as they come in (like posts). That way people are immediately getting their download link which they can post in their release thread, which we're thinking will encourage more people to use the upload facilities.

I agree, I've been to this site and I'm forced to register to get patches. I got some stuffs there and forced to leave a comment before I got what I want. As what I've said, it keeps most of the patchers going. What if there's another people would step-up and release his stuffs, then nobody would give a comment or even appreciation of what he's doing aside from Sir Andrew, do you think this guy would stay longer? I guess not(80% sure), who would love to post your work if there's nobody motivate him to do so?

i can relate with sir mgc #12 ...like me i already have a son and i have a business but like what sir mhikez said this is addictive...even I'm so tired , my son was already crying cause he wants me to carry him, my wife already scolded me because of this but still i kept on editing...trying and trying cause i know these could also help enhance my knowledge in editing..
I have to admit that i learned using photoshop few weeks ago only thats why my works were not so good...then i tried editing and reading some tutorials ...I started with player portrait making...so when i posted my very first work I was so excited to read if what would be the comments will be posted by other members to my work...since then I was motivated with those positive , constructive criticisms to try and try until I'll get the best one that suits to the taste of other members...

This is true. It feels good to get praise when you work hard on something.

If people are in "ninja mode" downloading patches then you should still feel good. You could actually say that the users who are downloading like it so much they are speechless. Most people who use mods don't say a word to the modders.

You should feel good because you accomplished something, not because you want other people to like it. You enjoy actually making the mods. If you don't, then stop making them.

As what I've said sir, patching is pretty addictive and keeping this buggy game alive by patching is already an accomplishment as what you said but wouldn't be more encouraging if you can see people criticize or appreciate your work? What makes other patchers hesitate to share or release their work is that you're thread is soooo cold cause you can't see any comment, appreciation, critics on your previews and etc. yet there are they're downloading your work. How would we know if our previews is already good for release or need to be reworked? How would the patchers improve if he can't see any criticism in his thread? Keeping NBA LIVE 08 alive starts from a good relationship between patchers and users. Otherwise, if people keeps on downloading without any respond to the patcher's works I would not be surprised if his thread would die sooner.

As long as you have the knowledge in photoshop bro, importing would be a lot easier. We will try our best to help you importing your works..^^ All you have to do bro is to extract the files from a fsh file and edit them. Use the extracted file as your base and re-import them again on a fsh file. ^^

yeah i completely agree.... i almost quit patching because i wouldnt get much feedback.... felt like there was no point posting stuff if no one wanted to comment..... but i had the true supporters pushing me on and it got me through to the talent i have today in cf's.....so i have to agree 100%
