My Dynasty - Lakers

I started a Dynasty with the Lakers. I haven't done any trades lately. I would like to have better big men, do you think Odom for Sheed is an OK trade? Who will I trade for Fisher? A more defensive and offensive guard is what I'm looking for.

I wouldn't do Odom for Sheed myself since Sheed will decline more quickly. If you don't want to keep Odom, I'd look at trading him for someone younger.

What about Fisher?

Rajon Rondo or Devin Harris perhaps?

Nets won't let me. I've tried. I'll try Rondo next year. I've ran past the trade deadline while waiting for a reply.

Personally I wouldn't go Rondo.
I don't know, take a look at the chemistry pages.
What I do, is go through rosters, make a list of players that you're interested in. Write them down, look up their chemistry, see who's looking best as far as chemistry goes. Go for a trade. The only flaw in this method is you HAVE to, when making your list of players, have a reasonable list of players, that have an overall within one or two points of the player you're looking to trade.

It takes time, but it will help your roster, especially if you sim games. Because not only did you get a trade you wanted, it also helped your chemistry, which is important in sim games. If you have the time, give it a try.

Oh yes, that's right. Forgot about that, because cap space isn't an issue for me (500 mil cap space FTW).
Um i have 08 uninstalled right now, so I can't exactly remember, but on the main dynasty page, go to GM's desk, it's around there somewhere (maybe under Player Chemistry or something like that, try player info as well). You can go through the teams (on the left side of the page) and the players and see how they fit with each of your players on your team. If you can't find it, I'll be reinstalling 08 here in a few days, so I can give you a straight direct way to get there.

Got it, thanks. But how will I know that the player from the other team will fit in my team? I mean, if he'll have good chemistry with us.

How can I change my starting lineups? I mean that 'Reoder Roster'. My first five in simulating games is

C Gasol
PF Odom
SF Walton
SG Bryant
PG Fisher

I want Bynum as my C, Gasol as my PF and Odom as my SF.

Switch the team list, and find the player, then look at the individual chemistrys. If he fits well with other players on the team, he'll boost your chemistry. This is the strategy ive used in 4 years of my dynasty, I've nearly maxed out my teams chemistry.

There's a patch for Reording Rosters since the game won't allow you to. Check the Rosters section in downloads. Once you've found it, the installation and how to use it will be explained in the ReadMe. Definitely worth the download if you like changing the starting lineup.

What do you think is the best Event Schedule?

Event Scheduling, oh yes. Well, I can't remember the exact examples for scheduling, although I remember there being 4 of them. Practice, Rest, Team Events, and something else I can't remember. I usually take what they give me, and lower everything about one point, and give the rest to Team Events because it seems everytime I let my Asst. Head do the scheduling, the players complain about not enough Team Events. If that isn't an issue for your team, I'd say keep as is, but once I get 08 installed again, I'll be playing around with that a bit, so I'll let you know if I get anything better.

I have the same problem with them complaining about Team Events. So maybe I'll try yours.

Yeah, take the most used thing, drop it about ten points, and give those points to team events. (Points=time).

I forgot. Ha ha. I now traded Harris and Radmanovic for Bibby. I'm not good at trading. Now my Team Chemistry is not as high when D.Fish is still on the team.

Don't think so, I'm not sure. Chemistry of the players might be possible, lurk around the players.dbf, see if you see any CHEM or anything of the likes.

If you ended up using the lineup of Bynum as your C, Gasol as PF and so on then it shouldnt hurt you chemistry too bad by having Bibby as your PG.. He usually works well with every dynasty ive had, but i dont know, depends on how much you play and simulate i guess..

Things are running smoothly now. I got the 07-08 championship and I'm now playing in the 1st round of the Playoffs as the 1st seed.

I'm just wondering, can I edit the salary cap even if I am already in my 2nd season? I tried and everything was OK but the year was reseted to 2007. D: I mean make the salary cap $500 mil but the stats, awards, the year and everything was not changed. Is it possible?

Ah yes. With the 500 mil salary cap DL I would imagine is what you're thinking of. As far as I know, you might be able to replace some of the files in the dynasty you have now and the 500 mil Cap Space dynasty, but I wouldn't try it if you want to have any chance if your dynasty not being completely ruined. I gave it a try, ended up just starting a new dynasty over with the Cap Space download. So I don't know.

What patch did you download to "reorder rosters"?, does it work well? I downloaded one and it didn't work for correctly.

There's a fix in the NBA Live 08 Various Add-Ons sections of our Downloads database that replaces in the Inactive List menu with the traditional Reorder Rosters screen. Note that the rotations option function doesn't work properly.

I edited some of my team members in the players.dbf (some had 1 year contracts: Bynum, Bibby, and Odom) Then when I got the championships again, it is time to re-sign them. The prob is, what they're asking is too much. Around $70-75. Ha! Ha! Too bad I don't have the $500 salary cap.

For me Im not going to trade fisher, ill let him retire so farmar will start for me, ill go pick a PG at the draft day.

I have pasted the Reorder Roster thingar in my SGSM directory but after I loaded my dynasty, nothing seems changed. Is there any problem I may have be done?
