Hi guys this would be my first misc patches for NBALIVE 2008 as i was playing my PS2 last night i stumbled upon thinking if the files of NCAA 07 March Madness would work in NBALIVE 2008 pc and to my surprise it did work and this is my first discovery the lighting file of NCAA MarchMadness 07.

but there is still a bug in this research of mine cus it seems that the white players like Nowitzki and other white players are having some dark dim effect on their skin and that is what i am dealing right now to fix. i hope someone can help me solve this especially Lagoa or Babylei or Jimmy. ill post a screen later on the bug that i am telling you.

btw ive also converted the aiact file of MarchMadness to work with NBALIVE 2008 ill post beta releases soon so that you all can try it and give comments to it. Ill keep on researching i might find some ways on how to enable that moving effect on the jerseys

P.S ive also tried Jao's MarchMadness files but it seems different to the Ps2 files that i have.

ive also noticed something some of their files are having this .ssh file that kind of resembles the fsh that we are having right now if we could just open those .ssh files i think we could now use that ambient effect on the players skin that would really look like a xbox effect.

This is the bug that i was telling about the white players they seem to have this dim effect on them but anyways when i see it ingame it is good.

That's great. Keep researching and that would be good if you can find how to make the jerseys move.

Looks like all players are dark, not just white ones. Look at the net, it's also very dark.

Don't mean to discourage you, but getting a "moving" effect on the jerseys would require exe editing/coding.

The .ssh files are just PS2 equivalent to the PC's .fsh files and the images are "swizzled" in an unknown way, and cannot be opened with any of the currently available tools.

thanks pdub ive also noticed that too the white players seem to have a darker complection and i think it is because of the .ssh files the lighting seem to be not merging with the skins of nbalive 08 pc but on the darker guys it really looks good. and about the aiact pdub it is really good bro just minor bugs. ill send it to you.

As wat had gm pdub says not only the white one but also the black ones. well darker guyz? thats not dim effect because thats their complexion.

yah thanks for the heads up man but i am now currently thinking that if i make also the lightmaps of the court into a darker one i think we could have some good results.

yup that is the problem bro they seem to be dark in the normal court but i ll try to get the orig lgihting from the ps2 and edit it a bit to make it good.more screens later

Increase the ambient lighting.

Thanks for the tip bro pdub but it seems that when i turned it higher the ambient values it makes the lighting look like the default nbalive lighting but anyways i was now able to fix something take a look i was able to add some light in the jerseys and the reflections and complexions are now good. one more thing to fix though is the lightmap of the courts ill ask permission from the court patchers if i could edit their courts to make this lighting suitable for their courts.

I must say that this lighting looks great with Andreas' 06 Next-Gen Court. Seems like the court lines really glow and that the light comes from the court lines.

yes your right lean and one thing also that makes the court of andreas good its because of the lightmap the lightmap that he is using is black thats why when it reflects to the player it seems it is giving it an xbox look but i have a solution bro if i could just ask permission from the court patcher like lagoa i could edit his courts to make this lighting suitable for the courts cus what ive seen from the ps2 07 march madness most of their courts are kind of dark. ill ask permissin from lagoa and i hope he will let me use it.

Try to add a little brightness in the upper part of the player's body.. And i have a question, how do you make the 06 Next Gen Court work for NBA Live 08? Sorry for the out-of-the-topic question.. If you can,could you please just pm me the answer to avoid bumping of topic..Thanks Kababayang Kris!
