users who circle around

any ideas how to beat this kind of offense? wherein your opponent is just circling around in the paint till he get the open dunk or shot? it is very ironic that double teaming is not very very very successful with it, even adjusting the defense on "auto to tight". i have a couple of blocks, steals and force shots but still the percentage is way -off than the dunks/shots being made. any tips guys?

It's a cheesy move that's difficult to stop. The bottom line is to try and stay in a position where you can block or alter the shot as soon as it goes up, perhaps try giving them a little room so they'll stop and attempt the shot, which you'll be ready for.

i agree but would it be safe to say that it's EA's fault actually? a glitch that is now being exploited by those online players? and sometimes it appears they can loiter around for more than 3 seconds on the paint? or it just looks longer because of moving around. i tried to stay in my position and get some charging fouls but those smart/stupid opponents knows how to handle defense like that... they just move without using turbo and viola no offenive fouls will ever get called tsk tsk tsk

one more thing... does doing direct pass on fastbreaks considered cheesing? how about doing direct pass after the PG pass thru halfcourt and wait for the C or PF to come and slide thru the basket to do the dunk? can we consider it as a play?

Possibly, if what they're doing isn't actually a three second violation (I couldn't say without encountering a player doing that myself) then it's an issue with the game. I imagine it's difficult to make a game that is completely foolproof and offers absolutely no exploits or cheap strategies in multiplayer games, since forcing everyone to rigidly play a realistic game or whatever arguably limits the fun since not everyone is interested in doing that. It then becomes an issue of gamer etiquette and agreements between players as to what kind of strategies are allowed and if an agreement can't be reached, you avoid playing that person again.

you should experience those type of opponents the soonest possible time lol dude it makes me crazy thinking how to defend that "smart" offense lol it's so booorrrriiinnnngggggg but still i find it too hard to solve hahaha. i stand to be corrected though, it's hard to make a perfect game coz' there is none. minor thing, why i can't see the AI adjust to those cheap plays in nba live 08 (PS3)? they don't react on it even it is done 100 times on the game. in nba live 09 (PS3) i guess the AI is so much better or they are too good now? they almost make the shots. and if you try to steal the ball 90% you'll get a foul. but they can defend most of the passing lanes so easily lol

They have adjusted some online settings in NBA Live 09, that could be part of it.
