does anyone know how to make the game play realistic? because when i play, players shoot and score pretty easily. I want to play it like a real game.

If you're playing the PC version, I'd suggest checking out the various updates you can download as well as the sliders thread over in NBA Live 08 General. If you're playing on the consoles, the sliders are pretty much your only option as far as tweaking gameplay.
