Game crashes on startup...

Every time I start the game, it crashes right after the splash with Gilbert Arenas and before the main menu. I haven't installed any updates or patches, and it hasn't worked since I uninstalled and reinstalled this morning. When it crashes, I get a message saying "A required file was not found. Please insert the NBA Live 08 disc." Can anyone help?

Never mind, I've fixed this, there was an error with my speakers. I do have another problem, however. The game runs fine on individual practice or dunk practice, but in any other mode the game runs extremely choppy, no matter what settings I have it on. I've tried everything that I've read on here, including rolling back my drivers, but nothing seems to work. My computer runs far more complex games than this, so I don't know what the problem is. Is there a way to get it to run in, say, 1024x768x16 perhaps?
