Yeah i think its possible, because Andrew make Chris Andersen and Keith Van Horn who wasn't in the original roster in 08 "comeback again" in his latest roster update, i just dont know how tough you might wanna ask Andrew about it. I am sure he gonna help you out . If he see's this thread

You need to create him in game and do some dbf editing. Every lines that are in Live 2005 roster you can copy.

Here you have a guide of editing players.dbf file and here for appearance.dbf.

You will need also to import his face from Live 2005 using EA Graphics Editor which you can get here. You will need to open plyrface.viv under NBA Live 2005/sgsm/players with this program and export lasprew.fsh to you sgsm directory in Live 08 folder.

If you do it right, there should be no problem. If you will have any problems, write to me and I'll try to help you.

I usually take EA's faces from NBA Live 06 but the procedure remains the same. The bottom line is that if you want to add a player to the roster, you must create him. There's no way to make a player magically appear in another roster; you're going to have to put the work in.

Spree#8 has pretty much covered it already but I too would strongly advise against adding a player through DBF editing alone, especially if you're a novice. I still prefer to create a player in-game, assigning his ratings and so forth, then editing his DBF entries to make sure he's designated as an original player instead of created (ISCREATED = False) and editing any other hidden attributes in players.dbf as necessary. It's a lot safer in terms of avoiding errors and involves a bit less messing around in the database.
