Need help with custom tattoos

Ok I tried asking how to create custom tattoos for my created player but got no help, so can anyone either create custom shoulder tattoos for me and/or explain to me how to replace already existing tattoos in the game like the stupid letters.

P.S. I already tried following the tutorial off the main page but I think they are a bit confusing and outdated so the tattoos didn't show up.

I read the tattoo tutorial there and tried to follow all the steps but here is the problem I'm not sure I'm extracting the right arm color for my player. Where can I look them up? Also once I created the arms what do I need to change in the dbf files in order for the arms to show? Here are the player specs in appearance.dbf
Color 0 Bodytype 1 Muscletexture 1
