I've done this only once, and then never. I didn't know how i've done it. I recorded the video above to show you. I think it's one of the best animations of the NBA Live 08.

So, please tell me how if you did it before.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's a double tap down with the right analog stick when you are in the triple threat position.

Didn't work!

I'd like to do it again. Please tell me how if you have tried before!

I was half right. In NBA Live 06, you must be controlling an outside scorer. In the triple threat position, you hold the superstar trigger and double tap down on the right analog stick. How this is duplicated in 08, I don't know. Maybe the backdown button doubles as a superstar trigger.

I tried once more, but, nothing.

This is really one of the best animations in the NBA Live 08. Hope someone can do it and tell me how.

Oh, I do this all the time. It's a single tap directly down on the right analog stick when you're holding the ball in your hands before you've dribbled (You must be just holding the ball, neutrally facing the defender). The catch here is that it only works with certain players - some players I've found that it always works with are Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, and Allen Iverson (This might change with different rosters).

I'm afraid you are talking about this:

This is not what i'm telling. I've combined something and the dribble in that video happened. So it's not as easy as you tell :?

No, trust me, I know what I'm talking about and it's not as hard as you think. Here's a tip for you: instead of using a controller, try it on your keyboard first. Open up the config file and map the freestyle down key to a key on your keyboard. This way, it's much easier to just tap that key instead of using an analog stick (Sometimes when you use an analog stick, it's hard to tap it directly down). Now do what I said before in the game with the keyboard and tell me if it works.

My man, thank you veeeeeeeeeery much. I didn't try the keyboard suggestion, tried your last suggestion once more.

I've tried once more with my controller's right analog stick and it worked.

My mistake was not single tapping the right analog stick down. I was holding it.

Now i can do it with a quick single tap.

Thank you veeeeeeeeeeeery much, bro.
Cheers !!! (Y)

Edit:
Here's my video showing some random freestyle by Melo.(this move).
The court is brand new ESPN practice court(red version) by INF55.

BTW, i've just deleted his arm_tat files to avoid buggy tattoos(gloves, etc..).
