An honest, brief review

Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

An honest, brief review

I played a quarter and a half. I will come out and say that I took advantage of my fair use rights and played a downloaded copy. I am glad I did, as I have been in the past. I did the same for Live 2007 and after a few months, after I monitored the patching scene, I bought live 07 and installed it. I might do the same for 08, but as of now, I just deleted it all.

I had no crashing issues at all, so this lends me to believe that this is more of a hardware issue... even if only in the no-cd patch.

Here are the gfx specs I used:
Max Reso & bpp (1280x1024x32 iirc)
max graphics, bilinear filtering.

I had no performance issues, and only gfx issues I had was the coach clipping at mid court and some tearing (due to vsync being off)

specs:
Laptop:
P4 @ 3.4 GHZ HT
2gb DDR2 ram @ 667 mhz
256 mb ATI RADEON MOBILITY 9700 PRO TURBO
20 gb 4200 rpm hd

What i liked about the game:
Good camera angles
Some of the crowd in 3d

What I didnt like:
Turned into a fast break fest with CPU
Players not like real life counterparts.
GFX suck compared to other games, even sports games like madden

I only tried exhibition. Don't know how franchise is and likely never will.

Basically still waiting for another NBA Live 95-2001. Everyone after those sucked.... 2005 was decent.
