the roster ratings? It took me two days to research and update the free throw percentages of every single player in the game. Two days.
If I, an ordinary guy could take two days of my life to do it; then why can't EA, who has tons of employees and I'm sure a lot more resources than me, do it?! It's mindblowing. The only explanation is that they spend all their time on the 360 version and found out that they couldn't make the deadline for the current gen ones, so they just get Live 07, add some rookies here and there (No pictures of course), new background, new music, edit some significant player ratings so it's not completely obvious, and voila! New game. So to speak.
And you know what's annoying? They put on the the cover of Live, "the #1 selling basketball franchise". Yeah. If all of the current gen users decide not to buy the game ad let their beloved next gen users try to keep them alive, they couldn't brag about that anymore! The franchise would sink!
Bottom line, this was the last straw. A obviously bad game. Live 07 was still tolerable, it had new ratings, new features, it really was a different game. But now the only game that's different is NBA Live 08 current gen and NBA Live 08 Next gen. I've played Live 08 on the 360 and if you put the two games side by side, you'd swear they were made by completely different companies.
Sorry to rant. But just think, if we keep modding to clean up their messes then that doesn't really give them a whole lot of incentive to work harder right? It's not as if they lose a significant amount of customers. We're gonna have to send a stronger, aka revenue affecting, message if they're gonna change anytime soon.
