Cannot edit player numbers and save

When ever i try to edit a player or even create a new player on NBA Live 08 for the 360 it wont give me the option to save and when i press the start button it quits me out

I believe you need to create a profile for NBA Live 08 first, though it should prompt you to do that when you run the game for the first time. Have you selected a storage device to save settings and files?
